"We had a terrible experience at this location (after our son was at another location for years). The music director tended to be negative by calling out students in front of the group practice if they struggled. We tried intervening multiple times before finally pulling our son out of Wakefield SOR to minimize the damage to his confidence and to salvage his interest in the drums which he’s been playing for the last 7 years. The owner would not speak to us to talk about the situation or consider a partial refund. We moved over to OnSet Music and happy so far. It’s not a big franchise, rather the teachers are Berklee College of Music graduates and seem genuinely interested in making music fun for the students while focused on working on foundational skills so the kids can become musicians vs. “rock stars”. Also, it’s WAY CHEAPER!"

"We did some camps this summer and it was a GREAT experience! My child who plays guitar and loves 80s rock music was able to play music HE likes with students on other instruments. Learning to listen to and time his playing with other people is crucial to his development as a musician but his school bands don’t offer music he likes. He also tried out some different genres and found an appreciation for them, plus the confidence to try out for a jazz band. The staff is kind and welcoming, making it a safe space to be themselves. Definitely a 10/10!!!"

"The instructors are experienced professional musicians who also have a love of teaching. They are so invested in the development of their students as is evident by their passion and enthusiasm. It’s clear that they love their jobs. It has become my son’s home away from home. He spends several hours per week there and would spend more if he could! It’s worth the 40 min drive each way. The school has top of line rehearsal rooms and equipment. The program is designed for beginners, intermediate or seasoned musicians. There is a challenge at every level and your child will acquire the skills to be able to take advantage of the many seasonal performance programs and even audition for their resident house band when they are ready. In summary, top notch instructors, environment and program! Can’t recommend it enough."
