"I am writing to share my experiences and concerns as a former member of the Rock and Roll Daycare community, where my family was enrolled for nearly two years. Unfortunately, due to persistent health and safety concerns, we made the difficult decision to withdraw from the center. I believe it is crucial to provide feedback on our experience in the hope of fostering positive change. Throughout our time at Rock and Roll Daycare, I observed various issues that deeply troubled me, particularly in the context of the challenging year that was 2023. I feel compelled to express my serious reservations about the compromise in the safety of both children and staff. From my perspective, the administration displayed a consistent pattern of poor communication, selective omission of details to serve their interests, and an overall lack of organization. Regrettably, it seemed that the staff was not treated well, and there was an alarming level of vindictiveness, creating a hostile environment that, I believe, is not conducive to effective teaching and caregiving. One notable example of this disconcerting pattern was the handling of a rodent infestation at the Central Square location, which began in April 2023. Shockingly, parents were not informed of this issue until November 2023, leaving staff and children to contend with rodent-related problems for a staggering seven months. The delayed communication on such a critical matter raises serious concerns about transparency and the well-being of the children and staff. The closure of the Central Square location became inevitable due to the persistent rodent issue. However, the administration was notably absent during this critical period. Despite numerous requests for direct communication with the owners and executive team, parents were consistently denied such interaction. It appeared as though there was a reluctance to confront parents directly and address the concerns and next steps. Rather than the owners engaging with the community as a whole, they chose to deflect blame to the directors and staff of the center via e-mail, instead of owning up to their mistakes. Moreover, it was disheartening to witness the implosion of the Rock and Roll Central Square team and community, which had initially been characterized by a deep commitment to the children and a focus on education rather than mere childcare provision. The team diligently adhered to protocols, ensuring the safety of the children and fostering a strong sense of community. Instead of being praised for their efforts, they were either terminated or displaced to a new location. In contrast, the administration's failure to follow EEC protocols and their own manuals/handbooks became glaringly apparent in day-to-day operations. This lack of adherence to established guidelines and the subsequent impact on the well-being of the community is deeply troubling. In conclusion, I implore the owners and executive team to reflect on the concerns raised in this review and take decisive action to address the systemic issues that have compromised the well-being of both staff and children. I believe that with the right changes and a renewed commitment to transparency and communication, JAMI Rock and Roll Daycare can once again become a safe and nurturing space for families."
"Almost at my second year mark at RRDC & it’s been the best choice I’ve make for myself on my career journey I’ve learned so much and have grown so much I love my job & everyone in the company"
"My sons attend rock and roll daycare for 2 years now and I am so pleased with the amount of care and love that they have received. I am so happy that I decided to have them join . They have been so happy and learning so much sense of self and independence."
"First and foremost it’s impossible to get anyone from administration on the phone. I’ve called for almost 8 weeks and left multiple voicemails for the admissions director and never got a call back. Finally, I decided to call each center directly. Wendy, the director from Inman was the only person to answer my call and help connect me via email with the district or of admissions, Courtney. Via email Courtney answered my questions and let me know there was space for my toddler at this location (Broadway). She sent me a link to set up a tour so I did. Within less than two hours of scheduling my tour first thing in the morning I adjusted my tour appointment from 9:30 AM to 9 AM and received an auto confirmation. When I showed up for the tour the next day, the Director who I had the appointment with was not there, nor was the directors assistant, (or whatever title the second person holds) was also not there and no one was available to give me the tour. The Director never reached out To apologize for wasting my time or to offer to reschedule the tour. I reach back out to Admissions Director the day of who let me know the Director was going to get in touch with me ASAP. I then followed up after not hearing from her the following day, and I was informed that the director was running late that morning and blamed it on me adjusting my schedule tour time. I was told there is now no space for a toddler and there is now waiting list because they decided to merge to centers. When there was space available the day before. When I responded to the email from Courtney to express my frustration, I did not get a response. Ghosted. This is by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had while looking for a daycare. The people who run this chain of daycare‘s are not available via telephone and never return calls. They don’t show up to scheduled appointments and fabricate a reason as to why. Business must be thriving because they definitely don’t care about customer service or any new potential families looking to enroll. Unbelievably the most unprofessional group of people I’ve had the displeasure of interacting or not interacting with."
"Our LO attended the R&R boardway location in 2022. We sadly experienced a pattern of neglecting children and arguing with parents from the some of the teachers and the current director. The teacher in our toddler classroom often stands still and neglects when a kid wants to play, wants a hug, or cries. Parent's requests like sending a picture of the kid, putting on jacket while outside, and offering home brought snacks are often missed. We raised the concerns a few times, the teacher tends to argue that she does everything based on the 'policy', the director tends to explain the teacher's behavior and assures it will improve, but we saw the same pattern repeated for a few months. It was a toll for parents, we withdrawed LO for another childcare, another 2 faimilies in the same classroom also withdrawed 1-2 month ahead of us."
