Reviews
"Fort Adams was way more fun than I expected. The grounds and ocean view are great and the tunnels are so much fun to explore. They are so well preserved."
"Pleasantly surprised with the information and thoroughness of the tour. The fort is an interesting place and the history is neat. The tour really went through this history and completely covered the time from when the fort was built to present day. The tour took us through the barracks and up to the top of the fort as well as the tunnels underneath. Enjoyed seeing areas we would not have seen on the self guided part."
"Great for a picnic and harbor views! Includes small beach area and sail boating! Bring a kayak! Dogs on leash! Restrooms at Top of hill and at main dock office in front of piers!"
"With more money invested, this facility could be so so much more! As it is now, the staff giving tours were all professional and knowledgeable about the fort and its history! The "listening tunnels" were another cool adventure here and a significant part of the fort's history - that one can only hear on the guided tours. I hope the fort is successful in finding ways to raise funding for future plans. It really is a treasure trove of history for Newport and New England."
"Went to Fort Adams for the annual Newport Jazz festival. Great experience and venue. The event itself was rather spacious and Fort Adams had a great view of the water, Newport bridge, and boats. Easy drive down but traffic due to the festival. Ocean drive is a great route for more of a scenic journey. As a Verizon user I didn’t have great service. I could call, kind of text but not roam on socials much."
