"Boda Borg's quests are similar in spirit to escape rooms, but reversed: a sequence of rooms containing puzzles and challenges (often timed) that you have to complete to proceed through the sequence. If you fail, you have to leave and start over. Expect to fail many times before you can even get past the first room. The feeling of accomplishment from even figuring out that much can be immense. And then the challenges get harder. You'll need to have a team of at least 3 people, preferably 3-5, to do adequately at most of these. Collaboration and coordination of your team members will be key. The quests are graded by how physical the challenges are, so you can choose according to your level of athleticism. Even the ones marked as purely intellectual can require some dexterity. It's a lot of fun."
"I went with my partner, my sister and her partner on a Saturday evening. It was my first time ever going to a escape room and my expectation was that it would be a large, single space which we would have lots of times to figure the mystery before moving on. What Boda Borg does instead is a bunch of different rooms, with much more limited time such as 1 minute, where you need to solve the puzzle/mystery of the room before moving on the next level of the same room. If you don’t succeed before the timer, you will have to start at level 1 of the room. We really enjoyed our time although it was very crowded. We went during a busy time and I felt like the large number of people detracted from the experience as it created larger wait times. There were some rooms we really enjoyed but other where it was either permanently closed or so popular that the wait time was very long. Overall, an enjoyable experience but would recommend less busy times so you have more time to try more rooms and less time waiting around."
"Overly crowded, the puzzles require a good bit of trial an error, which is fine as a design, but you often have to wait 3-5 minutes between attemps due to other groups waiting. The puzzle design of sequences of puzzles requiring you to re-do the previous completed puzzles is somewhat annoying as well. The puzzles themselves are fine, but not great, they often feel more about mastering a somewhat fiddly and buggy system rather than having a key insight in understanding. Overall this feels like an experience designed to increase repeat visits and capacity of the space rather than having the best puzzle experience. Generally somewhat frustrating, I'd recommend a more traditional escape room instead."
"Had a GREAT time here with my kids. Staff was super friendly and the facility was clean. The quests were very fun. We spent 2 hours here and easily could have spent 4+ hours. We will most definitely be back. We drove 4 hours to get here. Worth it."
"You’re going to fail multiple times and get frustrated but it’s fun to try again and slowly progress. Best way to describe this place is a bunch of individually themed quests with multiple parts. There’s normally 3-4 parts/rooms to 1 quest line. There are no rules to the room that are posted, the only hints you have about the quest is the plaque on the door with the name of the quest and maybe a one liner. The rooms are run by a program, no live humans watching you like an escape room. The rooms are laid out in multiple hallways, doors that start the quest will have a plaque. There’s a screen over the door that will be a solid green emblem or blinking green emblem. Solid means the room is empty and ready to be entered, blinking means the room is occupied. There’s a screen in the room that will have the flashing green emblem when you enter and the quest is live. If you fail the quest by doing something you shouldn’t or time out you will buzz out and the screen/emblem will turn red. It’s not always clear how or why you failed the room. Once you exit you can immediately try again if there’s no line and the emblem is a solid green. Depending on the time there’s normally a 1-2 group queue but the line moves fast. Generally you have less than a 5 minute wait to get into a room but some waits are longer pending the line. The bonus about failing frequently is many groups can try at once and some group who can get through a section quickly will make room for the next group to start. You need a group between 3-5, all rooms can be done with that number but some rooms are easier or harder with a different number. If you’re super hardcore and have done most of the rooms you can take the quest master challenge and attempt to complete all the quests in 4 hours. This will likely require several visits prior to your attempt to train. We spent about 4 hours just checking out the different rooms and only completed 2, came close to completing another 2 and failed many times. Would definitely come back here. The area is pretty safe and you had packs of middle school kids running around on rainy days with no direct parental supervision. There’s a waiting area upstairs where you can sit and relax there are some drinks available. Staff was amazing and super helpful and kind. Would definitely come here again"
