About the Business
Dorchester Park is a beautiful and well-maintained park located at 2180 Dorchester Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts. As a popular tourist attraction, the park offers clean, green, safe, and accessible open space for visitors to enjoy. Managed by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Dorchester Park is just one of the many parklands encompassing over 2,300 acres throughout the city.
The department is responsible for overseeing 217 city parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, golf courses, squares, fountains, game courts, cemeteries, urban wilds, and more. With a focus on preserving green spaces and trees, the department manages approximately 125,000 trees, including street trees and those within the historic Emerald Necklace.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are currently being held online. However, visitors can still enjoy the popular Boston Swan Boats at the Boston Public Garden lagoon, which is part of the 1,100-acre chain of nine parks connected by parkways and waterways.
In addition to recreational activities, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department also manages three active cemeteries and 16 burying grounds in the city. Public hearings are required for the removal of healthy trees, ensuring transparency and community involvement in the decision-making process. Visit Dorchester Park to experience the beauty of Boston's green spaces and enjoy a relaxing day outdoors.

Reviews
"Perfect lap for me and dog. Plenty of barrels. Clean park."
"There's a tennis court and a baseball field. There are no restrooms."
"This park is designed in a naturalistic style with paved walking trails, small sports venues, and jurisdiction falling under the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Commission, Dorchester Park. However, it is not recognized as belonging to the Emerald Necklace despite this being in the original plans of Frederick Law Olmsted. (Seems like a slight to Dorchester.) This area has free, two-hour, on-street parking located near a hospital and within a residential neighborhood. If you want to take a break away from the action in Boston, this part of Dorchester is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors while remaining in the city."
"Great for a walk or a run in short, low-intensity trails. Some small areas are under construction but nothing that will prevent you from experiencing a really nice and friendly park. The playground looks nice and well-kept and the entire park is uber dog-friendly with people walking packs at times. This park is a nice hidden gem."
"The new park looks great! The play structures are fun and interactive. They feel very dangerous to the kids but actually couldn't be safer 100% approved"
