"Did a few medium jobs for me at a fair price a while back. Went to do a small job on my own but misplaced one of my tools so I figured I’d just take it to Ricks since they had done good work before. Should have been 10 minutes of diagnostics and 5 minutes of labor for a $20-30 part (that I might expect to be priced up to $60, fine) so I was hoping between $80 to $100. Charged me hundreds of dollars. There were only 4 things that could have been wrong and I could have fixed all of them in the 20 minutes for under $100 in parts. This felt like the price was marked up in order to turn a better profit on a tiny job but I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have made much money on this one. You would have made a boatload on the bigger jobs I would have later brought you had this not happened. If the excuse is that it really took that much time in diagnostics then I would question their skills as mechanics but I don’t think that was it. Bring your car to these guys for big jobs or medium jobs… but the small things that should run you $50-$100 maybe take elsewhere or do yourself."
