"For a small ski area, Yawgoo does well with the resources they have. Where I have a problem with them is their lift staff, and in particular, how they operate their lines. My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons here, and today she felt confident enough to do a few runs on the tow rope after her class. I helped her up to the tow rope area, and quickly realized the oncoming skiers and riders were not letting her get up to the rope, and cutting around her. She got scared, and I helped her up to the rope. This happened each time she got to the tow rope. I was told by the staff that I couldn't be there, and that I needed to "Be behind the gates". I explained it was her first few runs, she was scared, and that she was intimidated with all of the others around her, not in a line, but pushing their way through and around her. The young girl was obtuse and uncaring. After 3 runs, my daughter had enough, and left crying and angry. Nice job... real nice."
"Started coming here when I learned how to ski and now both my kids are in ski school and love it. You have to know what you’re getting yourself into with the skiing. This is a large hill in South County. Not some mountain in MA or VT with a steep drop. That said, even as an advanced skier, it’s still fun to mess around over here and have a leisurely ski day. The ski school is awesome and really has helped them advance as skiers. The Maxx and upstairs can be a zoo though, at least for winter 2024; on weekends and ski school nights, space is very limited and the whole system for ordering food vs. drinks is a mess. People claim tables for hours on end. They need more staff to handle the operation. One bartender and busser doesn’t cut the mustard on busy days. We have literally given up sometimes and just go elsewhere for some snacks and drinks. Otherwise, great family ski spot!"
"Purchased my 14 month old daughter the Burton riglet snowboard. Burton grom binding & Burton bindings. All legit gear from burton. The smallest beginner board they make. Packed up the family & went to yawgoo valley. The same place I learned when I was a kid on the worst snowboard ever. We unload I bring my daughter up to the counter and sit her on the counter. I smile and say happy new year. I would like 2 tickets please. They said hello a woman behind the desk. The whole place was empty. 3 people on the bunny hill. I said my wife’s not riding so just two tickets please. When we walked up I put my snowboard and sofias little snowboard infront of the window. The lady peaks her head out and says she’s not riding that snowboard right. “ as I thought to myself well there’s only two snowboards there as we are the only people here and that tiny snowboard is clearly not mine”. I smiled and said yes she is. She said does it have metal edging. I never thought about it seeing as it’s a beginners board I checked and said no it does not. She said well she can’t ride that here. I said why not my buddy brought his son here last year and never once had a problem. She said nope can’t allow it. So then another lady comes out with papers and I said if that’s a wavier we will gladly sign it two consenting adults. Smiking she said no it’s not it’s the rules. She can’t ride that snowboard here. So we left. Now yawgoo a business who apply rules but only takes serious when they want to. I get rules are rules but why are the rules being applied here and there. How unprofessional and unfair to allow it and then don’t allow it for my little daughter. Do better. Here is a picture of us getting rejected & a message from a fellow dad who there son is learning at yawgoo. Sincerely an upset dad."
"The longer of the 2 slides was a little strange. My husband and I both stopped dead in the first long stretch where it is totally dark and had to push ourselves off somehow. Toward the end of the slide, I was rolling from side to side and when trying to stop this, my head sort of flew back and banged hard onto the surface behind me just before I was released into the pool. I didn’t go on again, just stayed in the pool for the rest of the two hours. Not sure I’d let a small child do that slide. Seems like a potential freak out situation, happening in a dark tube and all. Wish it had been clear at the top with vents or had small windows in the side to let in some light. The smaller slide was okay. People working there were nice enough but I’m not sure I’d go again, personally."
"We’ve visited here a couple times... specifically, the tubing park. It’s fun for both kids and adults, and your admission includes the tube rental. When we went, it was unseasonably warm; almost 50 degrees in February. This meant that the only snow was made by their snow-making machines... it was soft and slushy, but the tubing was still a good time. They have a tow-rope/ski lift to pull you back up the hill each time which was fantastic. There’s a concession stand at the top which sells hot chocolate, coffee, snacks, etc. We’ll go back again, it’s fun."
