Reviews
"Read some good reviews so gave this place a try. Immediately upon asking questions about some menu items as this was our first time dining at Maiz the young lady who took our order was not very friendly and short with my husband and I. Felt like we were inconveniencing the young lady. The food was fairly average. With the huge selection of quality restaurants in Portland that provide delicious cuisine and excellent customer service we will not be returning to this establishment to receive subpar service."
"Cute place with fast food vibe. Arepa with chickpeas and cauliflower was okay. Nothing special. 3 arepas appetizer I believe were tiny and not worth $10. Won’t go back but would suggest it for a snack."
"So so good. I've never had Colombian food so I had no idea what to expect. I asked the person at the counter what she'd recommend and it was the garlic lovers. Then I picked 2 more things from the snack section and hoped for the best. I was absolutely blown away at how good everything was. Everything was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be going back. It was a food experience rather than a meal. If you want to try something different, you found it."
"Big portions. Delicious ingredients. Authentic recipes. Pricey but delicious. I got their beans arepa with plantains, and also ordered their verduritas and cilantro sauces. Their arepas are filling! The verduritas sauce was mild rather than spicy and was a very conservative accent on the area. However the cilantro one was very flavorful and I would definitely have it again. Also I enjoy the music here!"
"Love finding some unique-to-me vegan food. The arepas was crisper/chewier than I expected, and really yummy. Avocado both on top and bottom of the pocket, stuffed in between with chickpeas, a tomato and a piece or two of cauliflower. Don’t try eating on a first date! Otherwise, you’ll love it. Appreciate the vegan options, and being totally gluten free! Decent size, but I needed a tad bit more to make it a full meal. Next time I’ll check out the apps."
