Reviews of The Chart Room
"We recently stayed at Black Point Inn during the week of September 4th 2023. We ate breakfast at this restaurant three times and ate dinner here once. The restaurant staff were always smiling, friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The restaurant's interior dining area has a very simple, rustic decor style with some local artwork on display. The exterior dining area is on a terrace overlooking the bay. The breakfast offerings were very traditional, fresh, generous and always made with quality ingredients, which we enjoyed with every bite. A great example of this was the breakfast fruit platter, in which every single piece of fruit on the platter was at peak ripeness, freshness and sweetness. Next, allow me to describe our dinner experience. Our dinner reservations were honored and we were welcomed into the restaurant at the exact time of our reservation. As far as the dinner offerings are concerned, we were amazed by the original seafood creations and fusions of ingredients and colors used to create the dishes. We had the salt and vinegar kettle chips with clam dip, the Caesar salad, and the crab cakes as appetizers. For the main course, we ordered the salmon and tuna dishes that were on the menu, both of which were delicious and beautifully crafted. Dinner portions were also generous and very fresh, using only quality ingredients. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we next visit the hotel."
"We have eaten here twice now for special occasions and our dinner this past Sunday 8/20 ( party of 7 ) was inedible for 5 out of the 7 diners. The other 2 had was ok at best. At these prices the food should match the atmosphere which is outstanding if you are on the deck. Save your money go to Portland."
"Seven of us dined here to celebrate my parents’ 35th wedding anniversary. Despite making the reservation more than a month in advance and requesting to be sat outside on the porch overlooking the water, they were unable to accommodate this. Disappointing, but fine. The server and bartender were great, but the meals were not: The main issue that we had was with the quality of the food. Several of us ordered appetizers (French onion soup, calamari, oysters, to name a few) and only the oysters were edible. The French onion soup tasted like it had been microwaved, and the calamari was soggy. Unfortunately the entrees were not enjoyed by 4/7 guests at our table. The tuna entree was good, but the steak was chewy and tough to the point of being inedible. The lobster rolls were cold and unseasoned with hardly and meat on them, and the Caesar salad came with anchovies despite the vegetarian at our table requesting there not be any meat included in her salad. I will not be dining here again."
"Maggie is a top-tier server. She's friendly and attentive without being intrusive. She even obtained a blanket for me to wear because I was not dressed for cooler weather. The food was delicious and view glorious. We will return!"
"We have been here many times over the last few years for lunch and have always enjoyed the view (make sure to take a walk along the coast from the parking lot). Meals can be hit or miss but earlier this summer I really enjoyed the salmon rice bowl and spouse the grilled shrimp salad. Recently though the lobster roll didn't taste fresh and my coconut curry had a bitter taste rather than a sweet curry taste. It was also huge, it would be better to have a lunch portion at a reduced cost that the dinner size and cost. My daughter also said there was way too much cilantro (it was a green color?) and she couldn't have eaten it so if you are sensitive to cilantro this is not the meal for you. Other family enjoyed the fish tacos which they have ordered on several occasions. We always get an outside table booking the reservation online."
