"Traveling around Maine to find new and different bbq we stumbled upon griffins. Always come to a new place open minded but starting at the store front and to the rest of the atmosphere it was as expected. We should have just went by. The brisket has large amounts of fat not rendered what so ever and not even my knife could pull it apart. The ribs had no flavor. I wish they could have at least offered us sauces to cover the taste Unfortunately not worth a second trip for us"

"Just discovered this place by accident. Reviews were great so we decided to try today for lunch. My husband and I had the pulled pork sandwich. We both agreed that they were great and will definitely go back. They do not skimp on the amount of meat. Great customer service."

"After working a 12 hour night shift I was handed a business card and a promotional paper saying that a free breakfast item was offered for just the price of a comment card. Ať first I wasnt going to go but I'm so glad I changed my mind and checked it out. It had a really cool name and I was curious. Upon parking in the parking lot I felt unsure that they were actually open since the sign outside said they were not due to be open for two more days, but I walked up and saw that they were in fact open and eager to make their first item of the day. I had not looked at any menu online, but the owner was awesome and let me know what was available and helped me and I decided on the pulled pork sandwich with egg and cheese. As I waited for the item to be made I was able to really get to know the staff a little better. Honestly the whole crew was truly amazing and the sandwich truly lives up to it's name of being soul food. I really appreciated that the sandwich was so well balanced that it allowed one to really taste each of it's components equally while still blending together in a savory and satisfying way. The egg was perfeftly cooked so the yolk didn't just drip egg yolk all over the place and the cheese was melted perfectly so as not to overpower the Star of the meal which is the pulled pork. All in all it was an experience and a sandwich that will have me coming back to try more meals in the future."
