"Tim and Rachel do an outstanding job installing my new bathroom vanity and faucet! They are professional, organized, clean, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend their services and expertise!"
"As others have mentioned Tim and Rachel are a class act! They installed a hardwood floor, new trim and an accent wall in our bedroom. Fantastic attention to detail with beautiful results. We could not be happier and look forward to more projects in the near future. I highly recommend and urge others to choose Chisel and Plane, the high quality results are predictable."
"Tim and Rachel did a terrific job on the stripping and staining of our front and back decks. They look great. Also they did a porch column repair that turned out to be much more complex than anticipated due to insect infestation and wood rot. They didn't just repair it they repaired it properly so it will last."
"Tim and Rachel did some interior work on my home involving doors, trim, woodwork, and painting. Overall, I had an excellent experience working with them and the results look fantastic. 1. They are extremely precise, planning carefully and following a "measure twice, cut once philosophy." In one example, when the lumber yard accidentally cut lumber to the incorrect length (the lumber mill made the mistake was off by a few eighths of an inch) they identified the issue during test fitting. They immediately worked with the mill to resolve the situation, and new pieces were cut to the correct length at no additional charge to us. 2. They are transparent and and committed to quality work. One door stop was place a little too close to the door. They noticed when painting, and informed me immediately that they made a mistake. The truth is, I did not even notice or think it was an issue... But they came back, moved the door stop, and repainted and caulked the impacted area. I was surprised and impressed that they proactively informed me about such a small mistake, and followed through with re-doing it. 3. They are professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. Surprises and challenges were always met with a cheerful and adaptive attitude. Personally, I think they are hilarious and delightful to talk to. Both Tim and Rachel have an broad knowledge in an eclectic array of topics ... Like trains, for example! 4. Exceptional quality to the wood work. These craftspeople know about their medium, whether it is wood or paint. Whether it's meticulously carving out space for a trim piece in a door stop, or selecting high quality paint and applying it carefully with the grain, they took exceptional care of the finer details. They were also careful with dust, paint, and to ensure the work area was left looking wonderfully. It's not a joke to say I've sat there and admired the finished product and just said to myself, "Damn... that looks so good. How does white paint on wood look so good?" Overall, 10/10 would recommend. High quality work, professional and courteous service, on-time, surprising random tidbits of knowledge, and generally just a great experience for start to finish. I already have several other ideas of things I may ask them to do..."
"Tim cleaned and stained our white cedar fence. The job involved three stages: cleaning, brightening, and staining. He did a beautiful job! He was not just responsive, but also contacted the manufacturer of the product we were using on the fence to ask about coverage and application. He advised me on how much product to order, corrected my original calculations, and as soon as he had a 3-day opening, he was in contact to schedule with us. The schedule was interrupted by rain, but the next day, Tim was back to it. This was a large, painstaking job. He was conscientious about prep and cleanup and a pleasure to work with. We couldn't be more pleased about how the fence turned out! We look forward to getting on Tim's schedule for a few more projects."
