"Really disappointed in my experience with Perks Peak... I was desperate and needed a car before a sudden move to Texas. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with the car... it had brand new tires and a brand new hybrid battery. The inspection sticker was over 4 months old, which should have been a red flag. Long story short, I drove it to Texas and everything that could go wrong did: - 2 of the 3 wipers came apart and needed to be replaced. - The entire dashboard (speedometer, odometer, PRND, gas gauge, etc.) turned off while driving. Apparently this was a KNOWN issue with the combination meter and the previous owners obtained a quote for it in writing, which I have in my possession. - 3 of the 4 tires have to be refilled every month because they have slow leaks. I'm debating whether or not to just get all new tires because it's so inconvenient. - Hybrid coolant fluid was low and needed to be changed. - There was a groaning noise coming from the back when I braked, which turned out to be a warped brake drum that I had to replace. - Also, the car wasn't detailed when I bought it and it was pretty grimy. This just goes to show the professionalism. Keep in mind that all of these issues occurred within the first WEEK of having it and Craig claimed that he had no responsibility because they were not "inspectable" issues (even though they all were except for the tires and the detailing). Definitely learned my lesson. Wish I had read the reviews before doing business with Craig / Perks Peak. Consider yourself warned!"
"I bought a used car here several months ago and made the mistake of trusting the dealer. Shortly after paying for it the dashboard lights started coming on one by one. It looked like a Christmas tree! I was told the car was meticulously examined by 2 separate mechanics. I have spent thousands on repairs and towing and the car is still being repaired. I tried having the brakes and air conditioning repaired under the warranty but I had to use their mechanic and he did a temporary fix on the brakes and admitted he didn't know how to fix the AC or many of the other problems that kept popping up. BEWARE!"
"Reasonably priced used cars. A relative's purchase here was not problem free. It was picked up with a new sticker, and a broken rear spring. The 30 day warranty covers only 50% of inspection related parts with no labor charge. He was charged for the spring even though it was illegal to sell inspected with the broken spring. When we picked up the car, the gas filler door had fallen off and couldn't be fixed by the dealership as it wasn't an inspection fault. I highly recommend using Carfax as we found radiator mount damage that didn't effect the car's function but was an insight into it's history. Overall I think the car is priced and performing well."
"Bought a lower mileage car at what I thought was a fair (not great) price with a new sticker on it. I took it to a friend's house who is an ASE certified master tech to put new brakes on it and he let me know that the car would never legally take a sticker... They had glued sheet metal over holes in the body and painted it. On this type of car, the body serves as the frame... So I had been driving my kids around in a car that was not safe to drive."
"Guy named Randy sold me an suv a few years ago, he had a new inspection sticker on it. Few weeks later I notice it’s missing parts of the breaks (should have failed any state inspection). The vehicle also had shoddy work done to the frame, break lines, but what’s worse was the transmission had been worked on and put back on with no dowel pins; meaning it wasn’t properly attached the the engine and caused the flex plate to fracture. That was a costly repair. Not a reputable dealer."
