Joe's Flat Iron Cafe 65 Water Street, Skowhegan, ME 04976

"I realize this sounds ridiculous but I got a brown sugar cinnamon latte while my companion had a coffee with cream and sugar. We both had the breakfast sandwich, dry with no mayo or Sriracha mayo. The sandwiches were fine. Lots of cheese, cooked fine. The coffees were HOT. Nobody wants a cold cup of coffee. I get it. But these coffees were like SURFACE OF THE SUN hot. Even with the cup sleeve, I could barely pick it up as it burned my hand. I removed the cover, thinking that might help cool it down a tad. It would have been lovely to enjoy my beverage with my sandwich, but it wasn't possible. I will say, the brown sugar cinnamon latte was utterly delicious when I was able to drink it at home after grocery shopping, still warm, an hour and a half after ordering it. Maybe try the iced beverages unless you have an asbestos tongue."

"The coffee was great. We were driving through Maine...driving all day...and needed a pick me up. This happened to be en route, very conveniently located and easy to access. Beautifully renovated and welcoming atmosphere. The owner welcomed us at the door, very friendly guy, but most importantly his recommended coffee for our specifications was spot on. Definitely worth the stop for something more than your average cup of Joe. :)"

"Such a quaint place! Loved being able to sit, relax and enjoy the busy streets of people watching. The decor is beautifully done. Rich blue colors with comfy brown leather couches. Classy not stuffy . The games and books are a fun add on! The owner was very kind and service was great. I definitely will return to enjoy this Cafe!"

"Opening day! Read an article about this place over the weekend! Worth the stop! "Chief's Special" is a local twist on "cafe con leche!" The space is beautiful, very high quality interior with a cool wood and blue color scheme! Menu is really good grilled cheese for now, local pastries from the nearby "Bankery" bakery will be offered soon!"
