"Update: In a massive step backwards, this Shaw's has done away with the "natural foods" section and replaced it with a wine mom area. The refrigerators that used to hold coconut water and other tasty beverages now hold chilled wine. It's not a good look and it proves how out of touch this company is with current trends in grocery. Removing a star. Update: Shaws sells hummus weeks after its expiry date Update: Shaw's has not changed since I last edited this review. They seem desperate for workers as well lately, and its no surprise. Good luck trying to find folks to work in this environment at the wages they're offering. Update: Shaw's has not changed since my last review. The store environment is an assault on the senses. If you want to experience exaggerated price inflation, go to Shaw's. Their out-of-touch attitude is further exemplified by looking at where they place their products. For example, pasta and pasta sauce are in the "international" aisles for a touch of fake worldliness. Gluten free items are in the "natural foods" section rather than placing them next to their glutinous counterparts where they could possibly be found. (The fact that they have a "natural foods" aisle is just further evidence that most of the products are just empty garbage.) For some reason, I couldn't find where the rice is, and it wasn't on any of the signs. Rice is a major staple food, where is it??"
"Nice shopping experience. Usually has what I need; a little on the expensive side."
"Produce seemed to be good this week. Sometimes you have to be careful with produce and bread. The ladies that work up front are amazing!! 9/09/23 update This picture is an example of why you must always be careful when buying products from this location. Cracked this open the day I bought it, and it was full of mold!!"
"This was the first grocery store I went to when I moved here. To my astonishment a staff member kept reminding me about the fact that the store was about to close and that I should hurry up. Some older guy with glasses. A) I had no idea the hours since I just moved there. B) I had spent the rest of the day driving from out of state and needed some food. But apparently they care more about the hours of operation than the customer. Oh, and the food is overpriced here. TLDR: Go to another grocery store like Market Basket."
"Expensive but convenient. Decent selection and fresh produce. Never very busy so they rarely have more than two checkouts open. A couple grumpy older women work there, but for the most part they are avoidable. I'm almost 40, shopping with my teenage daughters, and they still card me for wine every time. Clean and organized. No real issues, just price. Easily $1 more on some basics like milk and orange juice, bread, ice cream, frozen products. Produce is priced about the same as most stores. Fish counter is expensive but always fresh and yummy. Pantry items are hit or miss with pricing. Forget paper products or cleaning supplies - get them anywhere else! Weeks worth of groceries is easily $50 more at Shaw's than Hannaford and $75-100 more than Market Basket. That said, this Shaw's is great for beating a crowd, quick and convenient location - need to pick up a forgotten ingredient this is the stop for convenience alone. But I avoid it for weekly shopping trip- for me anyhow."
