Reviews
"Service was abysmal. Look to the other reviews about, “issues with insurance”. I offered my insurance information over the phone and was told by a nice young person to just bring my card in when I picked up my meds. When I got there I put my insurance card on the counter. The woman in charge ignored it and charged me without entering the details of my insurance. Instead of paying $5 I paid $67. When I asked about this she got extremely angry and said I could come back in 3-4 hours. Seemed like a bait and switch to not have to deal with insurance. I imagine being a pharmacist out in Nantucket is difficult, especially during the summer, but this lady was extremely rude and I would advise you to go elsewhere."
"I work for a chain pharmacy and have had the misfortune of dealing with this pharmacy. Got hung up on twice by an unprofessional pharmacist who was extremely rude and belligerent, and was not able to transfer a prescription that a patient was in need of, resulting in the patient missing their evening dose of the medication. Will be reporting to the board of pharmacy, thanks."
"Was trying to get my medication and was told it would be ready in 2.5 hours. Went back and they said it was ready that they just had to put labels on. A complete lie. 4 other people were with me at the same time and were told 2.5 hours and their medication wasn’t ready either. The girl at the register told me that they were having a bad day because customers were getting irate with them. The owner heard me conversing with the other customers and threatened to call the police on me and kick me out of the store without my medication. He picked up the phone and I thought he was going to throw the phone at me. After pleading with the owner to get my medication because I really needed it for my health which he had no consideration about I was treated like a 5 year old child. The owner told me that they would take care of all the other customers before he filled mine. At the very end they waited until I was checking out to tell me that they didn’t have one of my prescriptions. He will never receive my business again. I transferred my prescription to a more competent business. I recommend everyone do the same. He was one of the most rude and demeaning people that I have ever met on the island with no respect or consideration for his customers."
"Dan’s pharmacy refused to take my insurance and lied about their reason for refusing. The story: The pharmacist issued and billed me for a prescription without prompting me for my insurance. When I noticed the error and requested they re-bill using my insurance, the pharmacist claimed there was “an authorization issue” that “would take at least a week to resolve.” I pressed him on this claim, because I’ve never had a similar issue elsewhere. He eventually admitted that there was no problem, he just didn’t want to take the time to refund and re-bill me. “It’s not worth my time.” Take your business elsewhere. There are other pharmacies on the island."
"They always try to convince me to pay cash instead of using my insurance, for one reason or another. It’s become a nuisance and, after awhile, has started to feel like a Ponzi scheme. . Why would anyone prefer to pay out of pocket for medication their health insurance covers?? It’s a bizarre method of operation that only benefits them and has zero upside for the patient."
