"These tours are very interesting, really liked seeing the original coffin house and the historic area. Our tour guide was fantastic and also sang a song she had written about Nantucket. Highly recommended."
"Very enjoyable 1 1/2 hour shuttle tour! Learned a lot about the island of Nantucket. There is a short stop at the lighthouse to let you take a photo. Try to get Delrosa as your guide as she is very knowledgeable and personable. She did an excellent job keeping the tour interesting! Highly recommend. Don't forget to tip as there is a sign but I don't think people noticed it!"
"Do not take this tour. Do not spend money on this tour. From the moment the tour bus driver, Roxane, stepped on and screamed that she was “the best tour guide on the island” and “we would see by the end,” I had a bad feeling. The tour bus driver continued to yell the entire tour which made it feel chaotic and stressful. We were expecting a relaxed tour but instead the guide screamed at the bus the entire time. Additionally she would repeat things over and over where she was shouting the same things at us multiple times. As we drove around the island the driver drove poorly and made rude comments at people wanting to cross on their bikes stating things such as “wow tough decision for you to cross.” The tour guide did not explain things well and throughout the tour it was hard to tell if things were fact or fiction. By the end we felt that we did not learn any true facts about Nantucket but instead had been told made up facts. It felt as though we were part of a bad comedy show where the guide was after cheap laughs instead of sharing historical knowledge. We drove past a window with bullseye glass and she said that it was made by someone poking their finger into the glass. Nothing else about the glass was explained. While passing a cranberry bog the guide did not accurately describe the history behind the name “cranberry” and used terms that are not politically correct. As mentioned it was challenging to tell what was true and what was made up along the tour. For example when we drove past one house with a “Hum Sweet Hum'' quarterboard sign it was unclear if this house truly belonged to a barbershop quartet or if the guide made that story up. The guide made many comments about females that were inappropriate. For example when we passed the tennis courts, she made comments about how women on the island wear white tennis skirts but don’t actually play tennis. She repeated this comment multiple times as we were passing women walking and the bus was full of females. I would have expected this tour to be filled with history, not insulting comments about females. When we drove past a house with a statue that included the women’s bust the guide made a comment that “she’s fake and those are too” again, an unnecessary comment. The tour was littered with unnecessary or inappropriate comments. I felt I missed seeing a lot of Nantucket while I paid $41 and spent an hour and a half on this tour. Even the spot she chose to pull over and let us off to view the lighthouse was terrible. We were incredibly far away and you could barely make out the lighthouse in the background but she kept shouting that you have to respect the golf course's land. I would have enjoyed learning more about the history of the island. This tour should be advertised differently if it is meant to be made up stories for entertainment. Finally the driver did not address a passenger who chose to talk on his phone for the first half of the tour. While this passenger was distracting, the guide was loud enough to hear over him talking, yet two other passengers behind him loudly complained for the duration of his call. The driver did not ask anyone to stop talking but instead yelled many times “can you hear me okay?” This was not an effective method to get any of the talking individuals to stop. It was not clear that she was trying to ask those talking to stop because it felt like she thought we could not hear and it seemed like that was why she was yelling, as mentioned before the tour felt chaotic and stressful and this added to that feeling. Again, I would discourage anyone from spending their time and money on this tour. I would also recommend someone from this tour company audit this guide's tour and possibly update or correct her script."
"Took a speed ferry to get to the Nantucket Island. We ended up not talking the tour as the tour we wanted sold out. But Gail was awesome and try her best. I would recommend to call in advance so you won’t miss it. I am letting you know it’s totally worth it."
"Our tour guide was exceptional, and gave us a nice overview of the history of the island. The tour takes about an hour, and it is well worth the price of admission."
