"Happy to support this museum that has the potential to be like Mass MoCA. Overall it was smaller than expected. The rise of sea water exhibit was very interesting. I loved the needlework on canvas room. The photo sequence of waves was intriguing. There is a large entry area where there should be sculptures and/or info about the museum."
"One of New Bedford's hidden jewels, the New Bedford Art Museum is like walking through your own private gallery. The exhibitions are timely, and a great mix of old school / new school creative work. If you've ever felt intimidated to walk through a museum and ask questions, this is the opposite of that. Great vibes, great people, great art."
"Just left this “museum” a few minutes ago, as I am writing this 6/4/2023. This place is NOT WORTH $8/Adult admission. It is not even worth 8 cents admission. It is a very very small building with one room with a few small closet like rooms off of the main area. It consists of a trash bag “whale fin” & construction tubes as an “exhibit”. They also have a few painted State Signs and a handful of Asian Prints. That is it. You are lucky to spend 10-15 minutes here. I also observed other patrons who left very disappointed and upset. A very big rip off and scam. You will be more interested in just seeing local architecture & murals in the streets of New Bedford. Very disappointed and wish they offered refunds."
"Today was the last day of An Intimate Portrait: Photographs of the Presidency of Barack by Pete Souza. Mr. Souza was there for the closing of this remarkable exhibit. He spoke for almost an hour taking questions from the audience of Museum members. This small museum is housed in an old bank building. The quality of their carefully curated exhibits far exceeds its size."
"This was our first time here. We enjoyed the Obama photo exhibit. Lots of local restaurants and shops to visit. We will be back!"
