"My stay at The Francis Hotel unfortunately was very disappointing- for a 1 night stay there were several miscommunications, the rate information for the night I was booking for was not properly disclosed to me, I was booked by the Hotel Staff for the wrong night initially, and the rate that was originally presented to me was not honored. I was hoping for some resolution when checking out of my room in the morning, but felt brushed off by the desk clerk. The lack of communication between members was unprofessional. My wife and I were really excited to stay at The Francis Hotel. We both have lived and worked in the Service Industry in Portland in the past, and have heard such great things and love the location. This experience and customer service was truly disappointing."

"The Francis Hotel is a fabulous alternative to the faceless chain hotels elsewhere in Portland. Great location with free parking, across the street from Tandem Coffee (highly recommend!) and easy walking to restaurants etc. The room was lovely, spotless and well appointed, and the front of house very attentive with good communication before, during and after my stay. Will definitely be back."

"I have stayed at the Francis multiple times! It is my favorite spot in Portland. I love the character of the building, the location is excellent, but it’s really the staff that earn The Francis the full 5 stars. Every time I have visited they have gone above and beyond - from doing a little extra decorating to celebrate a birthday to shipping my packages to my home when I accidentally had them sent to the hotel. They are pet-friendly, and my dog felt right at home there too! Special shout-out to staff member Renée who went above and beyond during my most recent stay!"

"We had the most lovely stay at the Francis in early December. We were traveling with our big dog and appreciated the wonderful dog friendly setup and accommodations. It’s hard to find a truly dog friendly hotel and we found the Francis to be clean, understanding, and with sweet little touches that made our trip to Portland even more memorable. Will absolutely be back!"

"Great hotel, characterful building both inside and out. Such friendly service, glass of wine on arrival and a warm welcome. Rooms were large and well thought out in terms of layout and facilities. Very clean and with everything you need (including delicious coffee). We had a meal in the restaurant attached which, although the menu was slightly quirky, the food was delicious and the vibe was great! We like walking so walked down the harbour and back! It’s about a 25 minute walk from the hotel to the harbour. Fantastic place Called the Tandem Cafe across the road serving incredible pastries and and their own style of delicious breakfast sandwich. Portland appears to be a very bohemian place and we enjoyed our visit! Highly recommend this hotel."
