Reviews
"Great environment and great food. We had the Flatbread and Big Dog. It lives up to its name. Service was ok, not great. Our server seemed distracted or stretched too thin."
"Olde Forge had great reviews so we decided to give it a go while staying in the Berkshires. We were warmly greeted by the manager and figured this was a good find. The problem came with our waitress. I ordered the Apple Cider Sangria and my husband ordered the Smitwicks beer. We waited awhile. It was in the middle of the day and not too many customers. My sangria comes in without my husbands beer. The waitress goes back to check about the order which never went through. The nice afternoon on the patio was me drinking alone and my husband eagerly awaiting his beer. It eventually came out. The beer was in a bottle. What was the need of waiting so long? We ordered appetizers (mixture of hot and sweet & sour as well as the 7 layer dip). This came out much later. When we received the order, my husband asked for ranch dressing as he doesn’t like blue cheese which comes with the wings. The waitress never returned. My husband finished eating his wings with no sauce. So disappointing as the wings is what this restaurant is known for. Our experience was a lot of waiting and terrible service. Not enjoyable."
"We stopped here for dinner before going to a Tanglewood concert and were delighted with our choice. Great tasting tavern food with great service. The "Don't Double Dip", duo of Buffalo chicken Dip and spinach artichoke dip was a delightful "something different" appetizer. I would come back here just for this, but it isn't the only reason. There is a great kids menu too. We had the kids grilled cheese, which was served on a fresh bread not the usual cheap white bread, and what looked like brie cheese (though i didn’t get a sample). It was toasted to a kids delightful golden color. A generous portion of fries was included. The Buffalo wings did not disappoint. They come in several varieties and were all delicious. The Shepard pie was also good, though more on the mild side than savory. A classic simple dish."
"I wish I had two sets of hands so I could give this place four thumbs down. Seated at 6:45. Ordered within 10 minutes. By 8 pm we still didn't have our food. 3 kids who are 6 and under who waited patiently for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The only communication we got was when we asked where are food was. Took our food to go after being told it was going to be at the table in ten minutes 3 times. Trash experience all around. Picture is the kids pasta we finally got. Great job, great effort."
"Great atmosphere. Old dark wood bar with many pewter mugs hanging above it adding a nice historic vibe. Mugs are part of their "beer club" which is fun if you can go here regularly to enjoy a brew. Good food. Excellent craft beers on tap. Great service. T-shirts available."
