"Judgmental staff, stopped bringing my dog here after being criticized about my anxious dog on the phone for 15 minutes which left me in tears. I followed their advice on helping my dog’s anxiety which made matters worse, in retrospect my dog (puppy at the time) was having issues with parasites and didn’t feel well on and off for a few months, she’s fine now."
"Not sure what to say about Crazy Paws! I have taken my two golden doodles there for many years and have never had a problem, probably because it was always for their annual well visits and immunizations. My older dog, Bailey, went in November 14th for an elective lipoma removal surgery, she came home and we noticed her incision did not look good. The next day, fluid was pouring out of it, we took her back and the vet drained the area and bandaged it. A day later, the bandage smelled foul and was soaked, I removed the bandage to find that the incision had opened up again! I took her back and another vet looked at it and said she needed to do something that night. She stitched it back up and put a drain in, we picked her up and everything seemed to look better. Four days later, we noticed a large seroma (fluid sac) had formed and the incision had started to open up again...brought her back in for a third time, they took her for nine days, within this time frame, they had stitched her up again (3rd time!)...we picked her up after they said she was good to go...they had diagnosed her with an EColi infection and that what was keeping the wound from healing...I still did not feel confident in her recovery so I took her to the VCA Animal Hospital in Weymouth, after our groomer and close friend had told me to get a second opinion. I brought her there a week before Christmas, a month after the original surgery...they said according to Crazy Paws, our dog had had MRSA, Staph and an EColi infection...they never told us about the MRSA or Staph...I was horrified! They also told us that the injectable antibiotic that Crazy Paws had administered should have only been given max 5 days, she was on her 10th day...it could cause irreversible kidney damage. After bloodwork, they said her kidneys looked good and put her on another antibiotic. We brought her home and after another two weeks, she is healing quite well! The employees are nice enough at Crazy Paws, but when surgery is involved, go somewhere else!!!!!!!"
"Save yourself the worry and look elsewhere - absolutely horrifying experiences here. "Crazy" certainly fits their practice and prices. The vet may take guesses as to what your pet may be suffering through, but thank god they have special diffusers in the individual exam rooms. Perhaps they should reimagine their mission of educating pet owners and just educate the vet on medicines and illnesses. Like I said, save yourself the time and go somewhere more respectable. Response to Business' Response: To clarify, medicine was not prescribed yesterday when my parents called to ask for a follow-up appointment. They were denied an appointment, being told that the vet saw their puppy a week prior and so her symptoms cannot be that bad. When my mother explained that her symptoms were getting worse and their puppy was now itching herself bloody, they responded by saying, "Well, when we saw her, she wasn't bleeding." Either way, we're taking the puppy elsewhere."
"Do the kind thing and take your pet to someone who actually cares. My parents brought their rescue here for check ups and treatment. After it was confirmed that their puppy had been in close contact with another dog with highly contagious mites and scabies, the vet told my mother, “We don’t see it necessary to see your puppy.” Despite itching herself bloody (with ineffectual medicine and remedies prescribed), and the obvious connection between her symptoms and her constant contact with another infected puppy, the vet refused to schedule a follow-up appointment, deeming it “not necessary.” It’s horrifying to think that a person who would supposedly dedicate their life to helping animals is turning them away when they are clearly ill; however, it’s not completely surprising given she couldn’t accurately diagnose what our puppy’s skin irritation was, prescribing what seemed to be random medicines in hopes of it going away. This is an unfit practice, and I will never return. In fact, when I called another vet to schedule an appointment there, they asked where our puppy was seen before and scoffed when we said “Crazy Paws.” If you care for your pet, don’t take them to the laughingstock of the vet field."
"I would be inclined to leave 5 stars had I visited more than a few times. (I’ll probably come back and add another star soon!). When my vet of 15 years retired from his Hingham clinic, I no longer felt the same comfort and attachment, so I listened to a friend’s stunning recommendation and made an appointment at Crazy Paws. I loved the entire staff instantly the owner, Fawn, was wonderful. The calm and warm atmosphere put my usually quite nervous little dachshund Mona at ease. And me as well. I got a strong sense that these people cared more about my dog’s well being than how I was going to pay in advance and which credit card would I be using ... Of course I understand that this is a critical issue for any business, but there was an emphasis on it at my last vet’s office that felt cold and impersonal which was non existent at Crazy Paws. I felt welcome and In good hands."
