"I’m writing a positive review on behalf of our senior special needs dog Eddie, who passed away peacefully this summer. Eddie had a large inoperable tumor which we managed the best we could given the circumstances, he was rescued from the streets in terrible conditions, as a senior dog. That being said the main Vet is an older man who’s very quiet and doesn’t speak much, he isn’t very personable but knows his work. The vet nurses who cared for Eddie and helped sedate him for grooming sessions were always very attentive to Ed and cared a lot about his condition and health. They always wrapped him him cozy blankets to keep him safe and warm, and we’re very communicative about how he was doing during and after his grooming sessions. We understand it’s not easy to groom a dog with a tumor! We appreciate the care they gave him, which helped him live way longer than predicted. So thank you."
"I bought my puppy in for what I thought was kennel cough. The vet was very cold and had no personality. Didn't talk to my puppy didntvreally care. Just did a very minimal rough check up and put him on medication. The whole time he maybe said 2 words to me. I will be going else where with my puppy"
"I am posting this review both as a pet owner and as a fellow professional in the pet care field. I took my two cats in for a regular checkup today for the first time, as I just could not make the drive to my old vet work. The receptionists have been pleasant and helpful, however I am extremely disappointed in the lack of attention given to my cats and the extremely poor bedside manner that was shown today. - No comfort was given to my scaredy cats (I’m used to my vets talking to, petting, and generally loving on the two of them because they’re sweet as pie). - The exam itself was so minimal I’m not even sure they were seriously checked over (my female cat has had some attention given to her teeth in particular by my last vet, so I was hoping to have an update on their condition). - They couldn’t seem to get their stuff straight when deciding which vaccines my cats were due for even though they were given everything (notes & records) from their previous vet. So now I’m going to have to figure out myself if they ARE actually up to date now because I’m not confident in what I saw today. - And lastly, upon my male’s physical exam, I was casually told “this cat has a HUGE mass in his abdomen” which was completely shocking to me because I pick this cat up every day and have for the last 11yrs and I have never felt anything “off”, nor have his previous vets. And pretty much nothing was said besides “It could be removable but I don’t know, you’ll have to take him somewhere else for an ultrasound.” Just…so completely cold and uncomforting. I’m distraught that my cat could have something extremely serious going on and I’ll be taking him for a second opinion somewhere else immediately. I think it’s safe to say that this practice is lacking in care and compassion, which is really inexcusable in this field of work. As a fellow professional, I understand burnout and compassion fatigue soooo much, but if you get to THIS point and you’re dealing with the lives of people’s beloved pets, it’s time to step away. We will not be coming back, and I don’t think I’d even entertain a response from the clinic if they choose to give one, because I don’t think there can be any excuse for this. Please just do better for the sake of the animals. They’re what we’re in this field for."
"This is my very first review I am ever writing online. I have been going to this vet for the past year and a half, so I had tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, every time my dog has gone in for a visit, I have left extremely unhappy. During my most recent visit, I warned both the tech and Dr. Sohn that my dog can be reactive, especially when they touch his paws, and I offered to hold him and they refused which was fine with me. The doctor did not let my dog smell him or even get comfortable around him before bringing him up on the table AFTER I warned about his reactivity. I told Dr. Sohn that his front left paw was irritated and he did not even look at the front left paw, as My dog showed signs of reacting, just like I warned and the doctor essentially tossed him aside and said “Forget it, that’s it.” Without looking at the problem paw, he chalked it up to “allergies” when my dog has not had this problem in his two and a half years of life. He did not even make an attempt to look again nor did he make me feel confident in his diagnosis. He proceeded to give him a vaccination without educating me or giving me any options (this happened the visit before as well, and I spoke directly to the doctor and expressed how unprofessional it felt). The doctor is dismissive and rude, and does not communicate with the owner at all. I spent about 5 minutes with him and he did not even look at the paw I made the appointment for, which is unacceptable for the cost that I paid for the visit. This is all on top of an issue I had about six months ago regarding my dog’s lyme disease. He showed an extreme lack of care and compassion towards my dog or me. Not to mention, the doctor has never once educated me on any of the topics regarding my dog (including his lyme disease) but the techs try their best to take the time to help me understand what’s going on. In the end, I asked the tech at the front desk to send over my dog’s records to my email because I will not be returning. The one star that I am required to give is for the friendly and patient techs that were kind to me and my boy. Edit: It has now been a few weeks since we visited this vet and the problem I had gone in for help with has not been fixed and has actually gotten worse. Absolutely because the vet did not even attempt to examine the area I was concerned about. Now I will be having to pay for a second opinion because this vet did not do his job. Do not go here!"
"This is my first time ever leaving a review online. I need to switch vets due to moving too far away from my long time vet. I tried this vet as they were the only place I could find that was taking new patients. The tech at the front desk has a condescending attitude. The tech that seemed to be in training was nice however did not introduce herself and I thought she was the doctor initially, although her appearance was unprofessional as she was dressed down. The doctor was very rude. He spent less than a minute with my cat, Sadie. He did not talk to me or Sadie (my last dr was so sweet and would talk to my cats). He did not ask me any questions. He was quick to take bloodwork just because she lost weight. (She takes medication for GI disease). My bill was $360 for less than a minute physical exam and bloodwork. Zero vaccinations (he said no to a distemper until the bloodwork comes back). This vet needs to retire. I have a second diabetic cat and I am not going back there. This is in response to Mansfield Veterinary Health Center’s response. I never said I was disappointed that I couldn’t hold Sadie during the bloodwork. I stated that the techs did not console her or say anything to her. I stood right next to them while they took her blood and verbally praised her and consoled her. The doctor absolutely did not introduce himself to me. I did give the name of Sadie’s medications to the tech. I stated that the tech was nice. She showed me respect and compassion, although she did not introduce herself to me.. The receptionist was condescending. It was my mistake that I did not bring any records with me. (My previous vet probably did not offer any information to your tech because they require my consent.) But, she kept saying she didn’t know what the doctor is going to be able to do for Sadie today and she was clearly annoyed. I was there mainly for a wellness check on Sadie as she has not been seen for over a year. I did provide the tech with a verbal history and the pharmacy online that I have been using. I did not know Sadie was losing weight until I put her on the scale at your office and she only weighed 8lbs. I did not write this review because of the answers I did not receive about Sadie’s condition. I wrote this review mainly for the disregard for my knowledge of my cat’s healthy history and for the lack of compassion, respect, and friendliness from the doctor. But, the cost of $70 for a 30 second physical is outrageous."
