"The location is amazing! The apartments are awesome! The problem is is they didn’t put any insulation between the floors so you can hear everything that happens above and below you! There’s nothing better than listening to the couple above you at 3 AM or listening to the dad yell at his two kids on a Sunday morning! Insulation between the rooms on either side of you are pretty good! Lived there for year and had to get out due to the people above and below us just couldn’t listen to it anymore! Depending on who the staff is they were helpful but limited on what they could do. If you don’t mind listening to the people above and below are you beautiful apartments great location!"
"I lived here with my two children for one year and hated to leave. Wonderful, spacious apartment. No insulation between apartments or floors but we were lucky to have great neighbors. Our apartment had the water view which was pretty and peaceful. Staff were VERY responsive and professional. Public spaces were clean and looked lovely. There were cookouts and holiday themed parties. Really enjoyed living there."
"This place was not meant to be an apartment complex. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The windows are poorly insulated. My electric bill is 300+ a month. The parking lot is always a mess and full of trash. Managment is not very knowledgeable. The hot water is never hot! I have been here for years. It used to be a great place but it's gone down for sure. It has turned into an old folks community."
"Riverbank Lofts has been my home for 2 years now. Here is a good honest review of these apartments. The Pros: Bang for your buck. I live on the top floor with a riverside view, and for the cost of rent, living in this area, you get more than what you pay for. Beautifully redone apartments with stunning wood floors, plenty of granite counter space, huge bedrooms, 1300 sq ft. of open living. For those complaining of cost, I challenge you to find this size apartment with these views for less. This place would be $3500/mo if it were in Boston! Underground heated parking with snow removal outside. Shade in the summer months too. Parking spots big enough for 3 cars for a reasonable cost per month. A small, but usable gym. If you need to do a quick cardio workout, or actually take the time to learn the multi weight lift equipment in the on-site gym, you can get a decent workout in. On-site laundry for those who do not want to buy their own units and install into their apartments. There is no need to drive to a laundromat and wait, but just be courteous to your neighbors if you're using the laundry room on the 1st floor. Free cookie Fridays at the end of each month! It's a small gesture, but it brightens your day. Building wide events to let you meet your neighbors. Go to them, participate. Be friendly. You'll enjoy the community more. Gardening plots and BBQs. When you live in an apartment with gorgeous 12'x8' windows that won't open, having an outdoor space is nice to grill or enjoy a vegetable garden. Just beware of rabbits! Lastly, the management staff. Talk about friendly, supportive, and timely. Whether you are working with Barbara, Cheryl, Nicole, or Kristina from the leasing office, or Nick in Maintenance, or interacting with the cleaning staff, they are all friendly, helpful, timely, responsive, and make living here a joy. The Not-so-Con Cons: You're living in a 100+ year old converted factory. If you think you're going to find modern construction, perfect seals, no drafts, and heavy insulation, you're delusional. ALL OLD CONVERTED FACTORIES ARE LIKE THIS. These issues are not unique to this building. Know what you're moving into before you complain about these things. My roof did leak after heavy storms for awhile, but the staff here had a roofer come out a half a dozen times to help find and correct the source of the leak and they took care of everything. You can and will hear your neighbors, but you have to be mindful and respectful. It is OK to LIVE and talk with your roommate/family, watch TV, enjoy a movie, have friends over. Just be courteous. Realize people work, they go to bed by 10pm on weekdays, and know they hear you as much as you hear them. Are these walls thin? Yes. Will you hear the neighbors walking around above you as much as the neighbors below you hear you? Yes. Are the walls and floors thick and sufficient enough to live with? Yes. Don't complain about hearing your neighbor turn on their sink/garbage disposal, or open a cabinet, or here the muffled noises from their TV. As long as they're not doing it at 3am, they are allowed to do these things as much as you. These buildings are about mutual respect. These apartments have A LOT of volume to heat and cool. Know how to run your thermostat, and be cognizant of how much energy you will use to do this. Some people complain about hefty utility bills. My average utility bill was $115/mo. I kept my apartment at 66 in the winter, and 74 in the summer. I set it on auto. I didn't leave the lights on. I don't leave unused electronics on. People who state they got $400+ utility bills either had their thermostats on "Emergency Heating" instead of normal, kept the apartment at 80 all winter, or had quarterly payments set up instead of monthly. Be a smart energy consumer, your bill will reflect that. Your only choice of internet and cable is Comcast. One way or another, you're stuck using them, whether you stream TV on Netflix with Comcast internet, or you get cable from them. They have a monopoly in New Bedford, you can't avoid them. I'm sorry."
"Fantastic loft apartment for the price! Amazing views and huge place, 2 bed and 2 bath. Underground heated garage, never have to worry about a thing. MAYBE the only downside is the lack of insulation on the 14 foot windows, but I prefer it cooler in my apartment anyway! Only utility is electric and my bill is very reasonable for the size place it is."
