"You won't be disappointed with this gem!!! I cannot say enough great things about the New Bedford Harbor Hotel! I stayed over New Years and had the most wonderful time. The rooms are spacious and super clean and charming. The staff go above and beyond. Luis at the front desk was AMAZING - such a great employee and really made our stay so welcoming. He made our day!! :) Will certainly be back when I'm in town!!!"
"Room boasted a harbor view, which you can see the harbor if you're tall enough and look past the huge brick building next door, none of these rooms had what i would consider a "harbor view". Upon arrival, the room we were given had clearly not been cleaned. The bed was not made, a light was on, and a half drank bottle of water was on the bedside table. The cleaning lady offered us a better room, but the front desk said no because the room she offered "was more money". Rooms were tiny but quiet honestly were we only there to sleep, so room size was not Important to us. Hotel parking lot is off-site 2.5 blocks away. 2 of the 3 nights when we returned to the room, our key cards didn't work. The first night, they said it was because no one communicated they had changed our room. The second night, they offered no explanation at all. No cleaning was done in our room at all our entire 4-day stay. The elevator usage certificate was expired and the elevator sounded like it may have been in need of repair. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not functional and the shower door felt like it was about to fall off the frame as the screws were not screwed all the way into the tile. We were told there was a "free grab and go breakfast" which we never saw any of the mornings during the time we were there. We did not take advantage of the on-site gym. We wanted to like the place and give it a chance. Positives are the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable."
"Great location, central within New Bedford. We were given a mobility-accessible room (didn't ask for it, so I thought that was a little odd), so the room and bathroom were very large and had wood floors which was a nice touch, as was the sanitized and packaged TV remote control. We appreciated the ironing board in the room. Free parking was useful, especially during the week when street parking is for a fee. The cleaning staff that we encountered were very friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast food was not particularly diversified, it was just ok. There was a surprising number of ambulance/fire truck calls in the space of just a few days for such a small town."
"The reason I give this hotel two stars is because I stayed here in the past and it was five plus stars. The room we had was tiny with no dresser to put our clothing. The desk was too narrow to work. Both myself and my colleague had work to do during our stay and went instead to the Green Bean down the street to work. The bathroom was adequate but also very small. The bed had a funky base which seemed odd. The mattress was comfy which is what mattered most. However, the pillows were not hotel quality - no fluff. The first night there I took a shower. In the corner of the shower they had a glass panel for soap. The glass panel fell when I reached for the soap. Luckily I caught the panel before it hit the ground. When we first arrived we went to our room. Eerily the door was wide open which was strange. One night we had dinner in the restaurant which has great ambiance, beautiful bar and the waitress was friendly and professional. We were saddened that there was a limited menu and the chef from our previous stay was no longer working there. The food was good but it used to be exceptional. The atmosphere and waitress made it a very pleasant dinner. The grab and go breakfast was incredibly disappointing with Jimmy Dean egg sandwiches. In the past you received a gourmet breakfast. Most places that charge a premium price have coffee all day long. As a big coffee drinker I was disappointed that when the pot was empty that was it. All little issues but when you are paying over $200 a night better is expected."
