"By booking them you are also signing up for CrossFit class by taking your luggage up 62 stairs (yes, I counted them). The elevator is only designed for a single apartment in the building. The interior is outdated and definitely requires remodeling. The level of cleanliness is way below average. I would keep all that in mind before booking. They take advantage when extending your stay, pricing you more than on the market (comparing the prices with expedia same room). On the up side I can say the location is the best you may find in this price range."
"For real, one of the best places I've gotten to stay in a major American city. The hotel was situated in the perfect location on Newbury Street- surrounded by high end restaurants and shopping. Just a quick twenty minute walk either way and you'll end up either at Fenway park or downtown too. The location could not have been better for our visit to House of Blues. And you would think being in such a city center location would mean there would be a high level of noise to contend with- but this could not have been further from the truth. The rooms are insulated very well, and we couldn't hear any noise from others guests or from the street. Lastly, we'll discuss the actual room. Clean, spacious, and exactly as pictured. Hot water. Soft bed and clean sheets. Working television, dishwasher and washing machine. Again- all positive experiences. Forgo Airbnb or a traditional hotel and try out Sonder; you will love it! Oh and one last thing, if you get there early, or have to leave after hours, they have a luggage storage system that really allowed us to extend our stay in Boston due to the fact we were able to store all our belongings before/after check-in. Complete game changer- such a great time!"
"Amazing location! The room had everything we needed and was very nice. Good mattress. Pretty quiet (a little noise is expected in a city). Loved being able to store suitcase before/after checking in and out for free! I didn’t think the stairs were a big deal at all but I’m used to walking around a city."
"This group is very poorly run. Nice idea, but after two stays with sonder in boston, we’re done. Never again. Inaccurate listings that have hidden notes in booking policies that they rely upon to explain your unacceptable experiences. Very poor management response and simply put, you’re better off at a budget hotel in the area. There are more than 60 stairs to unit 32 in this magnolia complex. In the booking policies, it says that the elevator is only accessible for the Ada room. No mention that unit 32 requires this kind of climb. Maybe it’s meant for those who travel without luggage?"
"Miserable place to stay for many reasons: 1. The elevator to our room was out of service for the entire stay, which was a handicap accessible unit. Customer service claimed it would be fixed the second day of our stay, but it never was. Instead, the elevator (which literally runs through the apartment) ran constantly up and down, making every bit of noise along the way 24 hours a day. 2. The apartment was directly above a loud restaurant, with no soundproofing whatsoever. Do not expect to get to sleep before 11:00pm, even if they finally fix the elevator. 3. Early check in was rejected, with customer service claiming a full five hours was needed to clean the unit. They refused to allow me to even leave bags in a closet, and instead tried to convince me to use some overpriced and untrustworthy luggage storage service. I learned after our stay that there were actually lockers available inside the building that we could have used. 4. You must use their proprietary app to stay here, and it demands every bit of personal information you can imagine. 5. The apartment was in decent condition. It's been remodeled within the past couple of years but it's the kind of fake-luxury feel. The sparse furniture is cheap, and even the lone area rug is completely tattered and curling up at all edges, which is a serious tripping hazard. Don't stay here."
