"Had a great stay! Was to quick lol but we just needed a place to land for the night. Great view of the ocean from the room and the room was great! Connor at the desk was super friendly and supportive of all our need and we were pleasantly surprised that Nate the GM made it a point to great us as well. Great location and gorgeous hotel."
"I was the DJ at a wedding that was held at the Ashworth in 11-4-23. My biggest take away was the attitude and competence of the wedding coordinator Rita Hocker. From our very first phone call, to advance the date, she was so welcoming and so friendly and so on top of every single detail she immediately disarmed me, and I was excited to go there and be a part of the wedding celebration. The moment I arrived she tried to make me feel welcome and give me every possible detail I could need in order to do my job. All the while she was very calm with a big, beautiful smile. I watched her relate with the members of the staff and she was very polite and nurturing with them and in return they were so wonderful and so helpful it made the bride, groom, all of the guests as well as me and my wife so at ease and so happy and so able to enjoy the charm of this legendary hotel. I read some of the other reviews where people mentioned that updating is desperately needed and to be fair I agree. I have also seen where the owners have addressed it and they have pledged that they have a punch list and they are working as time permits to make this treasure the shining diamond that it once was. In the meantime the bar and the restaurant had healthy traffic throughout the day and everywhere you went in the hotel everyone was in a good mood and enjoying the breathtaking views of the beach and ocean, plus enjoying the many amenities this beautiful hotel has to offer. If you're looking for a place to have dinner or hold your wedding or other special event I recommend the Ashworth specifically because of Rita and the rest of the wonderful staff. They say attitude always comes from the top down so the owners and upper management must be very nice people :) – Curtis"
"Top 5 worst hotel stays. We booked this place last minute while driving up the coast. The reviews and pictures seemed good enough. But we should’ve known by the burnt out bulbs on the exterior Ashworth sign that this stay wouldn’t be great. Before arriving we tried unsuccessfully to call the desk to confirm our reservation. We booked through Expedia and was wanting to confirm they received it. We never got through after multiple calls. Upon arriving we noticed the bottom level restaurant and lobby were packed with drunk wedding party attendees. Navigating them to get to the desk we finally confirmed our room. But were then hit with an additional fees for valet and resort fees. We were already paying an exorbitant amount for this crummy beach motel. Walking into our room the first thing we noticed was how loud the fridge was. It sounded like it might take flight. Additionally we noticed a long hair on the pillow, stains up and down the hallway carpet, our dead bolt would not latch, trash piled on the ice machine and insanely thin walls. We could hear the conversations next door and the man peeing in his bathroom. Thankfully for the insanely loud fridge it somewhat drowned out the noises from either side of our walls. Eventually fell asleep only to be awaken at 2a by the drunk crowd downstairs chanting and cheering. The lobby was a wreck the next day with the staff seemingly unaware of the mess around them. Luckily our valeted car was not damaged. Would never stay here again but it was better than sleeping in our car."
"I have always wanted to go to this hotel finally booked a weekend from Sunday to Tuesday. Got a standard king size room with partial Ocean view but the room was a lot smaller than I expected. The staff was excellent but having to pay for parking at $25 a day I thought was a little crazy not to mention the $20 a day resort fee. We didn't use any of the amenities. It rained the whole day on Monday. Which was a total bummer so I feel my trip was a complete waste of money. The faucet on the sink came off when we first turned it on. The bathroom sink drained very slowly. The toilet was filthy and the bathroom door you had to slam it to close it. My second key did not work at all. After one day my regular key didn't work. The only thing that I liked was that it was close to the beach. I probably won't stay here again unless they have a deal on the price of the room I was very disappointed"
