"Stayed here for our 1 night getaway to Newport. We stayed in the Cottage room and it was nicely private, clean and spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff were are very pleasant and hospitable. The location makes you feel like you’re a local as it is on a residential street just outside the downtown area, but everything is ~10minute walking distance. The house itself is more modern and renovated than the typical inns in the area, but still gives you that New England character. Would love to come back and stay here again for a longer trip."
"We had a wonderful stay at the Marshall Slocum Inn! Mark checked us in and gave us some great tourist tips. The room was very comfortable and clean. There is a complementary yummy candy bar as well as tea and coffee available to guests. There are fresh baked goods and drinks to purchase. The lobby is a very nice place to gather and there is a great outdoor area to relax with a glass of wine. The Inn is central to everything for walking or driving. Parking is included. We would highly recommend staying at the Marshall Slocum Inn!"
"Let me start by first saying that I have been to the Marshall Slocum 4 times and it never disappoints. Mark has always been a great help at any time no matter what the need might be. The property is beautiful, and there is never an issue with parking. I also have never had any issues with noise while staying there. I don’t have anything but positive accolades for the Inn, the property itself, and all the rooms! I most recently stayed in the cottage and I loved it. I also liked what was called the Captain’s room as well. Really any room there has been wonderful. It’s so centrally located to downtown that you can just walk. No need to get in your car. The rooms are tastefully appointed, and anything you need is either already there or can be easily acquired. The rooms are beautiful, and feel historic in their own way. I would never hesitate to recommend Marshall Slocum Inn. And I know that I will be back. Mark and the staff there are wonderful!"
"Just enjoyed a short stay at the Marshall Slocum Inn and I will absolutely return. The owners were so gracious and thought of every last detail making this antique home truly 5-star. We stayed in the Captains Quarters on the first floor. It was a very hot day and the room's air-conditioning was perfect. The sheets were luxurious and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. Everything down to the toiletries was just right. In the common area, there are so many options for food and beverage whether for a quick breakfast or a late afternoon snack. Honestly, I think my favorite surprise was "Gail's Sweet Shop" which was a little self-serve candy station that we may or may not have visited more than once. This inn is within walking distance of everything and along the route, you get to walk by gorgeous historic homes and cute shops that you may have otherwise missed. On top of that, they have their own spacious (and complimentary) parking area behind the inn adjacent to the back lawn and deck with plenty of seating. We'll be back for certain"
"I stayed here for a weekend wedding, and I am so glad I did! Beautiful and quiet neighborhood with charming rooms. I stayed on the third floor and found it very comfortable (and immaculately clean). Staff were friendly, and I loved enjoying my morning coffee in the dining room. You're in walking distance to various neighborhoods, and while I didn't have a car, the Inn has ample parking. I definitely plan to come stay here again next time!"
