Pet Supplies Plus Athol

"They have a lot of things, for many types of animals. From homemade treats for your dogs and cats to a pet wash and grooming station, they have it. Making an edit to the original post... Let me preface by saying we have gone to this location since getting our golden retriever as a puppy a year ago. Now for a review reflecting our most recent visit, which has caused me to decide that we will no longer go here for food, toys, or any supplies ever again. We normally bring our goldie to a dog groomer regularly. However it is Sunday and our groomer is closed and our 1 year old goldie has become a bit stinky lol. So we go to Pet Supplies Plus to use the self wash station for the time being. Our visit started out well, having purchased use of the area at around 10:46am. Took us about 2-3 minutes to get to the back of the store (where the wash station is). And had to wait a few minutes as a groomer was trimming another dogs nails in the self wash station (no big deal, I wasn't discouraged by that). We got the dog up in the wash area and washed with no issues. When we went to dry the dog however the air dryer was not working (again I had no issue with this). The person at the grooming station said their walkie talkies were not working and informed me I needed to go to the front or find an employee with a walkie. By the time the dryer was reset and functional approximately another 7 minutes had gone by. AGAIN, Not A Big Deal. Now here is where the big deal has come in to play. Only a couple of minutes had passed since beginning to blow dry our goldie when a woman (whom I believe was the manager) appeared to ask if we were almost finished because a line was starting to form for the self wash station. Also, we were informed that is generally only 20 minutes for use of the self wash station (we were never informed of this, because as anyone knows it takes more than 20 minutes to wash a long haired dog of 1 year old). No where in the stare are there any signs saying self wash is only 20 minutes!!!!! I didn't complain when I had to wait for the station at the start, I didn't complain when I had to find someone and wait for the air dryer to be turned on. So why am I now being forced out of the area I paid to use???? I told my wife shut off the dryer! We towel dried our dog (which as anyone with a goldie knows means he's still wet)!!!!! From time of purchase to when we were back in our vehicle was 35 minutes with a minimum of 9 minutes where we could not properly use the station. But we were made to feel like we were the reason a line was forming???!!!!!! I think not. And I don't care if I have to pay $1,000 to have my dog washed only, My family will NEVER use Pet Supplies Plus ever again. And we normally spend $200-$500 in this store monthy because we did like them.....But not anymore."

"This store is actually so much better than I anticipated. At first I thought there wouldn't be much selection, as it is a lot smaller inside than the local Petco or Petsmart. However, it's actually awesome! I've found they have the best selection of items for my cat, and great prices and sales. Plus the online ordering works great and really helps when you're crunched for time. Store is clean and well stocked."

"It was my Shepard's first time going to the groomers today & let me tell you, we will never go to another place again! Maddy was our groomer and we will forever be going back. She was absolutely wonderful. She was sweet to talk to, very informative, and very reassuring that she was confident enough in her self and Reign to take on the challenge of the first timer. Reign did fantastic and came out looking like a whole new pooch! My Boston Terrier also got his nails trimmed and buffed and even though he peed all over the floor, she laughed it off, cleaned him up and was so gentle with him. I used to work in a grooming salon in PA and Maddy listen to everything I mentioned, suggested and asked. I was absolutely thrilled too see the end results and we cannot wait to go back again in a month with the whole pack! Thanks again for the outstanding service!"
