"I believe it's called Atlantic family services. They have nurse practitioners that act as counselors and prescribed medication. There is one psychiatrist who specializes in helping children ! They have a friendly staff and probably cover more psychological areas and I am aware of. If you don't have excellent insurance.... it can be very difficult to find a psychiatrist for ADHD and anxiety.... Atlantic County just has a very limited number. My knowledge a family services is limited ... so I would recommend you call to see if they can fulfill your needs. The best of luck to you all ."

"I used to see the only actual psychiatrist here, Dr. Costillo, he is now working with adolecents. You will see a nurse practitioner. I had been on the same medications prescribed by Dr. Costillo for ten years and had a great rapor with him. I was told by him that id remain on his case load. I had an appt. and the office did not even tell me that they canceled my appt. and set me up with a nurse..so I saw the nurse and she refused to write my medications and told me I had to see dr Costillo ...this happened twice. Thank god I had the money to go see my family doctor until I found a new psychiatrist. Dr. Hankin (highly recommended). The last time was the last time I was there, they wasted my time and my doctor told me that that was patient abandonment what they did. I pay out of pocket to see a psychiatrist now. Its a shame if you have medicaid because this is the only place in the area that is covered by Medicaid. You will not get to see the psychiatrist. If you do ..get ready to get tapered off of any anti anxiety medications you're on and if youre an addict..get ready to be treated like one by the nurses. Front desk staff is great. I had a 5 star review before. Id give this a zero if I could and the patient abandonment I experienced is ILLEGAL ( I have been complient and clean for 5 years). Seriously...if you have serious depression/anxiety/ mental illness do not go here. Itll just make it worse. Very unorganized or they would have never canceled my appt then get told (second time ) I have to see Costillo by the nurse and NEVER was notified. I found out the day before when I had an appt w my counselor and called prior to check the time of my appt with costillo. She (I forget name) REFUSED to write my medications and claimed they called me AND claimed that dr Costillo wasnt writing my prescriptions because the pharmacy had the wrong name in the system so she had to call and confirm...they also dont keep great records as they only found one past prescription dr. Costillo has written for me when they were trying to say I was seeing another doc for my anxiety meds...its a bunch of BS. Good if you're starting off new w medications (maybe). Patient abandonment..end of story. And that is 2 other doctors who told me that. I would have wound up in the hospital. Not sure what action ill be taking yet."

"I receive treatment for my mental health disorders from Family Service Association of Absecon. The first time I called was to ask about how one could receive treatment at their clinic. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I set myself up with an appointment to be evaluated. The first appointment with them was an intake evaluation. I met with a therapist; she asked me a lot of questions about my mental health history, family history, and medical history. She also did a short evaluation (maybe 20 questions?) in which I had to rate the statements as true, maybe, or false (for me personally) on a scale of 1-5. In total I was there for an hour. A few days after the intake evaluation, my new therapist called me to set up our first therapy appointment. (I scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist after my first therapy appointment.) The whole process was quick and simple. I have tried several other mental health clinics in the area but was unsuccessful in receiving proper treatment. Not only am I receiving appropriate treatment now, but I can personally see improvement of my mental health disorders. The staff is truly caring and understanding of people like myself. I have even had two of my therapist quit Family Service Association, but both times the clinic has quickly and efficiently dealt with the situation. This clinic has proven itself as amazing time and after time. I would recommend this place to everyone who is struggling with mental health disorders."
