"In December of 2020, I found a lump in my right breast. I went to see my OBGYN for an initial check. She sent me to get imagining done. They told me I needed to see a breast surgeon. The referrals they gave me weren't covered by my insurance, so I started researching my options. The Google search engine brought me to Dr. Flannery. While reading her bio, I knew I wanted to be her patient. After my first visit, I knew I was in the right hands of medical care, support, and genuine desire to see me beat breast cancer and thrive afterwards. She sent me for a biopsy. After the biopsy results came through positive and I got "the call" from the team, and then Dr. Flannery called me right away. She heard my tears and walked through every step of procedures, treatment, healing, and recovery with me for 2+ years. She made sure the rest of my medical care team was the right fit for me and always followed up with me. They created my personal treatment plan and worked seamlessly together to make sure all my feelings, concerns, and fears were validated and needs met. Dr. Flannery is a true angel who knows her craft in medicine and people skills thoroughly. I am beyond grateful to be cancer free and to have a full recovery. "In July of 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. After having my initial appointment elsewhere, I met Dr. Yoon-Flannery at MD Anderson. After my first appointment with her, my husband and I were both laughing instead of crying like we were at the other establishment. Dr. Yoon-Flannery put our minds at ease and we both felt like we could finally breathe again for the first time in weeks. In December of 2021, I underwent surgery to have my cancer removed. Before I went completely under anesthesia, Dr. Yoon-Flannery rushed to my side to hold my hand and assured me that everything was going to be okay. In July of 2022, I ended up getting an infection in my lymph node area and was hospitalized. Dr. Yoon-Flannery found out that I was in the hospital and called me from her personal cell phone while she was on vacation with her family. Dr Yoon- Flannery has one of the best beside manners that I have ever encountered. Instead of dreading doctors appointments, I look forward to seeing her smiling face and getting a big hug from her every 6 months.
