"As a psychiatrist who works with dissociative disorders I have found hypnosis to be invaluable. Having familiarized myself with Dr Eric Spiegel's therapeutic style, exemplified in the articles he has authored/co-authored, I was delighted to see that he was conducting a workshop, "Attachment-Focused Hypnosis in Psychotherapy: Relational Approaches for the Developmental Repair of Trauma, Somatic Pain, and Anxiety". This three-day workshop was excellent; Dr Spiegel combined theory and practice as few are able to do. His spontaneous demonstrations of working with clinical issues presented by attendees and his videos of work with his own patients were interwoven with didactic aspects in a skilled, attuned and, I would say, hypnotic approach. My focus and interest did not flag and, if anything, I would have appreciated another day. I now rarely attend workshops/conferences having found them to be humdrum and disappointing in the past. Dr Spiegel's masterful workshop exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend attendance at any future workshops he may offer."
