Lower Eastern Shore Children's Center
About the Business
The Lower Eastern Shore Children's Center (LESCC) is a courthouse located at 405 West Naylor Mill Road in Salisbury, Maryland. Established in 2002, LESC serves as a secure detention facility for male youth awaiting court proceedings or placement in a treatment facility. Primarily serving youth from the Eastern Shore Region, LESC offers dietary, medical, educational, and counseling services, as well as recreational activities. Students attend school year-round, five days a week for six hours a day within the facility. The Superintendent is Derrick Goins-Witherspoon, M.Ed., and the Group Life Manager II is Shantel Tippit. Visitation to the facility requires a 24-hour RSVP to the Case Manager and must not interfere with school. LESC also provides access to the National Human Trafficking Hotline for confidential assistance. Additionally, the Maryland General Assembly's Office of Legislative Audits operates a fraud hotline to report any allegations of fraud or abuse of State resources.
