"NOTE: This review is based on what we experienced in December. Maybe it's better in the summer. Positives: The staff are extremely friendly. The room was very clean. The decor is nice. Close to plenty of shopping and attractions. Negatives: Not worth the price. Arcade has very limited choices and is extremely small. Activities were canceled because employees didn't show up for work. Character appearances did not occur when scheduled. Room was very cramped. Beds were very hard. Linens were very hard. Indoor pool was extremely cold. No indoor changing facility at indoor pool. Lifeguards are not prepared to take immediate action if needed (they were wearing sweatshirts, sweatpants, pajama bottoms). Restaurant menu had limited options and the options that were available were basic and overpriced. Bottom line: We made the best of what we could actually do and tried to keep a positive attitude. However, we didn't feel we received the value of what we paid for. To put it into perspective, we stay at a Disney "Good Neighbor" hotel in Florida when we visit Disney World. We pay significantly less per night for better accommodations. The Cartoon Network Hotel in Lancaster is one of those places that you drive by a hundred times and go "that looks like a fun place to stay". Then you actually go and are disappointed. We expected a better experience for the price. Neat to see. Would not recommend anyone to stay. Save your money and stay at another hotel with an indoor pool."
"In all fairness my stay was a few months back so maybe things could have changed BUT it was terrible in every way and I have tried to get a hold of someone for months and no one has responded so I will bring it here... My sister and I took her son who is 2 years old... Staff was unfriendly, we were basically the only ones there besides a few grown men who were smoking on premises, we were unable to eat in the restaurant for an unexplained reason, our room we booked was not letting us in so they put us in a room that didn't accommodate my nephews needs (we needed one big bed for him to sleep between us so he wouldn't fall off and they gave us two small beds)... We told them and they said that's all they had even though we were basically there alone. Rooms were dirty. The door unlocks when u pull the knob down which imo is very unsafe for children. We had to leave and we're not offered anything not even a sorry. Activity centers were a disaster, and we waited in the store forever and no one ever came to help us check out! There are also really dangerous stairs everywhere. I have stayed in motels that had friendlier staff and cleaner rooms. I could keep going honestly. I'm not one to complain but it really rubs me the wrong way that no one ever responded to my multiple attempts. It's a shame it could be a cool place."
"We stayed at the Cartoon Network hotel for a short weekend getaway. Front desk staff was very friendly. The rooms were tight for our family, but the kids loved the novelty of the rooms. The bunk beds with the tvs were their favorite part. Cleanliness of the room was not the best. There was a large bean bag in the room that had questionable stains on it. The floor felt damp. The bathrooms desperately needed to be redone. The shower/bathtub were a little dirty. The hotel is a redone motel, the rooms are accessed from the outside. Our room was facing a common area, where they had bonfires going at night. The bonfires are a fun idea, but the smoke smell was coming into our room through the AC/vent system which was quite unpleasant. The room next door to us was playing extremely loud music for a good portion of the night and our phone was not connected so I couldn’t call the front desk. The main area of the hotel is very cool, coloring activities for the kids, an arcade and character appearances. I enjoyed the coffee shop on site as well, we did not try the restaurant. I wish I could give this hotel 5 stars, but it desperately needs work done to the rooms to make it worth the price tag."
