Kindergarten Academy

"Let me start by saying that my expectations were set high by a friend of mine who’s child also went to kindergarten academy. I was extremely excited for my daughter to go there. By the end of the school year I was counting down the days until she was done. The only thing I believe they have going for them is their calls/messages home and communication via class dojo. Staff at this school are extremely unprofessional. My daughters teacher did not ever have anything nice to say about my child. Ever. In fact, all she had was complaints and never any solutions to offer despite the fact that everyday my daughter is coming home with k-coins signaling she is in fact doing something right. This same teacher decided on her own that she no longer felt a behavior chart was “working” for my daughter and stopped it without informing me. Since when do teachers also have psychology degrees to make that call? I don’t know. What I do know is my daughter was coming home upset that she “didn’t know” how many stickers she was getting for being good, or if she was being good for that matter. I find it really disheartening that as a teacher you can’t find SOMETHING good to tell me or my child. Next, my daughter needed a speech Evaluation. There was another child’s name on this evaluation. There was also a part that claimed there were no hearing concerns despite my daughter being diagnosed as partially deaf in one ear. I addressed this with the staff the first day of school when I saw my daughters desk was located in the back of the room. My daughters seat continued being moved in places I did not feel were well thought out for her hearing disability as she was not consistently in the front of the class despite her hearing declining throughout the year. Overall I was disappointed in this being my daughters first year of school and with the way crucial things were handled."

"Horrible people in this school nothing but attitude towards all parents. Principal threatens to lock up the school with my child inside because they can't wait a few min for me to pick my child up. This school seems to forget that they are there for us not them selves. They need to find people who actually care about children and not treat the school as a business. I give you a F- grade."
