"I 100% agree with AJ... James may possibly have good and bad days... But my (1) and only experience with him was soo unpleasant that I still tell the story to friends/relatives to this day, haha. I even went so far to check his reviews to see if anyone else has had similar encounters... (and it’s been like 5 years) Just treat people better, James... Even if they don’t have a profitable transaction for you, maybe they’ll come back. Good luck!"
"James the owner is rude, not customer friendly by any stretch of the imagination! After researching a repair business, I called to confirm his hours and location and was asked, "how did you get my #?" I explained I'd obtained it from the internet. He replied, " then all my information is there !" Took the ride to see him with the appliance, paid the nonrefundable assessment deposit and let him know I wasn't in a hurry. Okay, weeks passed, no updates. I called and was told, "I can't be calling customers with status updates. Did I call you? I'll let you know when I'm done!' Okay...weeks go by again then he leaves a voicemail with an exorbitant price for the repair! Not worth the cost of the appliance. After not responding to him, he calls and offers to lower the price showing me he'd overcharged me from the start. No response from me Gain and finally I let hi. K ow what I was willing to pay ND felt as if he tried to rip me off! IWe agreed to a price, I pick it up. He's gruff and rude. Had to make him show me the appliance wS repaired. He seems proficient but I'd NEVER recommend him to anyone. James? Your response is not needed. I'm sure you'll put your arrogant spin on it. You may talk to SOME people in your way but it's completely unacceptably received for me. I'll tell anyone who asks me..good work but beware the cost and theory attitude!"
"I discovered James’s Appliance Repair through Google. I have an old high end turntable which was not working. I emailed the manufacturer, Denon, and they have a list of repair firms, all out of state which meant I had to pay shipping costs before even getting an estimate of repairs. I decided to try James since he was within driving distance. I found James busy at work with appliances of every sort surrounding him. I left the turntable with him with an estimated turnaround time of a 2-3 weeks. He called me 2 weeks later to tell me the turntable was working fine and ready for pickup. The cost was very reasonable, well below what it would have cost me to ship the unit one way to one of the recommended out of state repair firms. I highly recommend and refer James and would most definitely use him in the future and any appliance repair needs."
"I had a set of 35-year-old audio speakers that needed to be repaired. They were pretty high quality when I bought them and I didn't want to replace them. I might have been able to do it myself, but the quote James provided was reasonable and I felt more comfortable letting a pro do it. He got the job done in the time frame he stated and the outcome is awesome. I got a chuckle out of visiting James and his shop. He's a down to earth guy that you can have a fun conversation with and the visit brought back fond memories of Sanford and Son. This fellow is a treasure, but don't expect a spiffy storefront - just the result you are looking for."
"great know how for audio and video .. he 's been taking things apart since he was a kid My only complaint was expense. charged $ 80 to replace 4 display lights I would gladly give him a $50 diagnose fee, and replace the lights myself"
