"They changed our 4 hour trip to three hours (after we paid). And then after catching nothing (not one fish for the whole boat) they said the boat had an engine problem and we needed to leave. They gave a 50% refund but the whole experience was kinda a waste of time. Ive been chartering these types of boats for year, and I think the water is over fished and the industry is unfortunately dying. Go for the boat ride, not the fishing. And make sure its 4 hrs not 3..."
"Nice boat and great service. Pick was a little slow but no fault of crew who were moving around and working the reef. Mate Frank was really helpful and Captain took time on way in for Porpoise watching as large pod went by. thanks."
"We scheduled this trip for a family members birthday and were all set for the 8am trip. When we drove over to the boat we were told they had to cancel because the captain was needed to take another party out. The reason that we received was that another local fishing boat crashed into a bridge and his boat was sold out so the caption of this boat was paid to take out all of their paying costumers. Then we scheduled again late in the day for the 7pm to 11pm trip. We thought that we were good to go until we drove over there again just to receive another cancellation notice. They apologized and offered us child rates for the following day for the inconvenience. We went the day after the family members birthday and the experience wasn’t the same as when we went out of the Royal Flush years ago. The Royal’s captain and crew has such a positive and enthusiastic attitude that added a lot to the experience. One of the crew members of the Cape May Lady was really helpful and fun to interact with, but the other had a no-care attitude. We were out of bait for 10% of the fishing time. They ran completely out of bait on the back of the boat towards the end of the day and my brothers and I were going around collecting scraps. We drove an hour out to sea, fished for 2 hours, then drove back for an hour. The 3 of us caught approximately 22 sea bass that were between 4” and 6”, a bunch of baby shark, and one 12” sea trout. I think that the experience could have been a great deal better if we weren’t scrounging around for bait so often. I’m giving a 3 star because they were accommodating for canceling on us twice in one day, but then offering us the child rates because of the inconvenience. Also for 50% of the crew acting like they cared about our experience. If it wasn’t for him then this review would have been a 2 star for the overall experience."
"We havw a large family that went out on this boat on Wed morning 7/28/2021 at 8am and it was packed! We have been on many boats for fishing and this is one boat we probably will not return too and won't recommendunless you bring your own fishing Rod/Reel and make sure they are not filling every single slot. The positives, the boat was VERY CLEAN, Bathrooms were clean and the 3 mates were very nice, they filet your fish you catch at the end. We went to 3 different reefs and the only fish people caught were a few baby sea bass and a few King fish. 》》The Unfortunates》》 Due to the amount of people on the boat and number or rods out the lines kept getting tangled constantly which was slightly annoying. I HIGHLY SUGGEST you bring your own rod+reel and bate if you really want to catch anything and not waste time fixing it. The reels were in really bad condition to the point the mates were even frustrated and complained about how damaged the fishing rods and reels were. The reel lines were all taken glad so either you or the mates needed to fix them before you start to fish. I have never seen such poor quality or maybe just old for rods/reels on a head boat before, I hate to say that but we went through 9 Rods and all were damaged so bring your own if you have one even if it's a cheap one it's probably better than what they can provide. Other than those things it was fine. It's just a shame that so many people were on the boat because we think the experience may have been better and maybe we would have gotten better reel/rods.?.? I don't know but everyone was having the same issues with them. The crew was so nice but again we were only helped 1x so it was not worth to tip our normal 25 to 30%we usually do with our group. Tipping is critical for mates so we still take care of them because it's not their fault that many people were allowed on the boat and the fact that the rods and reels were in such bad condition. The bate was ok not the greatest, they provided squid."
"What a great day of fishing! We caught plenty of Sea Bass (The season is not here and could not keep them.) We also caught some nice size Blue fish. We caught Porgys and there were some huge trigger fish caught on the boat. The captain and deck mates were awesome. I would definitely come back!"
