"Super fast service... Decent portions. Good taste. But on the expensive side."
"Fantastic! Best curry dish I’ve had EVER. Such a distinct blend of flavors. My spouse had the lamb chops and raved about it. So disappointed we don’t live in Exton anymore but definitely worth the drive back!"
"Absolutely delicious! Extremely clean, bright atmosphere. I loved the umbrellas on the ceiling and the framed sarees. So cute! The food was filling, flavorful, and fantastic!! I am on a vegetarian diet currently, so we did all vegetable based items and they did not disappoint! Everything had me saying “OH MY WORD” it was so delicious. Will definitely come here again."
"This place has great variety of vegetarian options to choose from. The service was great and quick, the best part was the timing as most of restaurants are closed between 3PM to 6PM but this place do not have such restrictions. Do try it out !"
"Update: On my second visit the food was as delicious as the first time. I took a friend out and our bill came to $60 dollars again. We ordered two naans, two curries, and one soda. After having another vegetarian curry I would say I was underwhelmed by the amount of vegetables and quality of them. They tasted as if from a bag of mixed freezer vegetables. The curry base was delicious but for around $20 dollars the curry portion should go up or price should go down to even $12-$14 dollars. Maybe, if I was dinning at a high end Indian food restaurant I wouldn’t think twice about the price but between the lack of friendly service we received the second time around and the portions making me question why the dish is priced so high, I’m not sure I will be returning. I have changed my review to three stars from four. I would love to see this place stay…it seems to be always lacking people inside and I think the pricing compared to the places around the Main Street of Exton may be impacting their success. First review: House of India is a great addition to Exton. We visited the restaurant on a Sunday night around 8pm and received excellent service from the friendly staff. The paperless menus on little iPads were a nice touch and any questions we had were answered accurately upon delivery. Additional rice was free, I believe, and given upon request. While I imagined the serving size to be a little more for the price, the flavor and care packed in each bowl more than made up for it. (Keep in mind the time it takes to stew and cook foods like curries and chicken dishes!) If you ordered an appetizer, two entrees, and a couple of orders of naan, you could easily feed a family of four. We left with a little container of leftovers and our bellies delightfully full. Overall very yummy but maybe some more food for the price being paid. So that’s why I give them 4 stars. The robust flavors of their dishes were truly impressive, especially the chicken tikka masala and dal tadka. Both were perfectly cooked and packed with delicious spices that gave a nice mouthfeel. The chicken was juicy and cooked near perfect perhaps a couple more pieces of chicken would be nice but otherwise no complaints. We got the dal tadka at medium heat and often eat spicier things. This dish had a nice spicy level, so if you are sensitive to spicy things, go for the lower spicey-ness level. The garlic naan was warm and soft, with a little crunch on some parts, and a beautiful accompaniment to our meal. Oh and don't miss out on their in-house made desserts, especially the mouth-watering gulab jamun cake. What really made the dining experience at House of India special was the friendly and enthusiastic service. The atmosphere is also a nice addition, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that we would highly recommend. If you're in the mood for some flavorful and affordable Indian cuisine, head to House of India and prepare to be impressed! Our total came to around $55 dollars. If you are reluctant to go because of the prices I think it is worth it for the quality of the food and service. I think eating in would offer the best value and general experience. Not sure what portions are provided for takeout. (Also lovely decor, branded tables and silverware. Bravo! Definitely a more concise and cozy decor than Hakata.)(FYI it’s BYOB!!)"
