"Have been coming here since I was in grade school as my family vacations in South Bethany during the summer. Appalled and shocked by the negative reviews, it is authentic Chinese food and has never failed to deliver. Seems people get mad at wait times on busy holidays, but that is every restaurant in South Bethany, so I’m not sure what they expect. It is a hardworking and family-run business, they’ve always treated us with kindness and respect. It continues to be a major highlight of my trips every year."
"Had Carryout. Fried rice is just that rice with soy sauce added, no vegetables at all. Egg rolls and spring rolls have only lettuce in them and nothing else. Fried dumplings were the best part of the meal with some flavor. Chicken chow mein looked good but had no taste. All in all very disappointing and will not go back."
"We as a family of 8 ordered over $130+ of various dinners and special items of appetizers etc. And let's start with easiest egg roll. Was burnt ( dry out and oil must not have changed in a few months, saturated thru. Dumplings same issue. Dried put and zero taste. Then, hot sour soup neither hot or sour, and had zero flavor, it was a tub of corn starch gravy but also nothing in comparison to any other soup I have had on Chinatown or Philadelphia area Asian restaurants. Slop left overs put in a container. Unfortunately we ordered 2 large ones. Down the drain. Veggie friend Rice. Over cooked veggies but no flavor either. And what ever cooked in oil used tasted rancid. Beef veggies dinner. No veggies because we asked for no sprouts in it. But no veggies at all. Wonton soup was the wonton like they bought these from a frozen bag and plopped into chicken broth. Spare ribs tasted like pork chops cut up. But not a spare rib or ribbless. Maybe 3 meals were ok. So, the family was celebrating our fathers 79th birthday and this dinner was supposed to be a treat. He was upset and sad for the kids not having a meal. This place needs to re-evaluate quality."
"China Express & Concierge Service We've been searching for the best (and closest) Chinese food to be had around here and I think we've found it! We had a wonderful meal from China Express last week and the pickup experience felt like a concierge! Call ahead, order your meal from the friendly & solicitous staff (asked about green onions and veggie preferences - we said we like them ALL) describe your vehicle, drive up to the restaurant - park - no need to even get out because they will hand deliver the order to your passenger side window, running your credit card right there curbside! Magic! The food was yummy! We really enjoyed the sesame shrimp, chicken with cashews, cold sesame noodle, Szechuan wontons, pot stickers and of course - wonton soup. All packaged beautifully with all the expected accoutrements (or as my Dad calls them - cooter-mints) from the hot muster and duck sauces, chopsticks, fried crunchy wontons, to the fortune cookies - everything was delicious and top notch. The vegetables were especially well prepared - crunchy & tender crisp! Some people swear by matzo ball soup for when you're not feeling 100% and I bow in respect - but my go-to is Wonton soup. Nothing quite like it! Yum. Well done, China Express you have a new fangirl & family!"
"Food quality was of a child trying to make Chinese food at school (i.e. spaghetti with ketchup) This placed watered out all the sauces the fried rice was horrible and dry, the fried dumpling very blah, and sweet n sour sauce was apricot maralade watered out and chunks removed, lomein was spaghetti noodles. I was so disappointed. Should of just went to the grocery store and bought frozen Chinese meals it definitely would of tasted better and cheaper. $50 dollar lesson!"
