Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant

"The restaurant's decor is more of an upscale vibe, free of Mexican/Spanish style typical furnishings. I was initially concerned that I would have no server, because after being seated by the hostess, it took more than 10 minutes for my server, Paula, to acknowledge my presence. I dined last night, Sunday, and there was a live mariachi band available for serenades and they play and sing beautifully. There is a bar with high top seating & tv's. There are also tv's in the dining room area. I'm not sure if there were any drink specials because I didn't receive an advertisement with the menu & Paula didn't announce, suggest or recommend any. Paula was friendly and reasonably attentive after I was able to place my order. The restaurant offers free chips & salsa for dine in. The chips were room temperature but the salsa was super cold, but didn't taste freshly made & was slightly salty. I ordered the chicken chimichanga texana (fried) with rice & beans. The chimi was well seasoned and I would recommend this dish. I've previously visited the King of Prussia location and ordered the same dish and I must say, the Bear location has KP beat on taste & presentation of the dish."

"My lovely wife and I went to Plaza Azteca (Newark DE location) for a drink or 2. We really enjoy our date nights, and this place is always good for Mexican food and a great atmosphere to listen to upbeat music. We will be returning."

"Good food just not great. The tableside quac is my favorite. Ive been here a few times and have had the fish tacos and shrimp empanadas. Good flavor but never enough of the protein. Drinks are consistently good and strong. The restaurant is large and clean- it was very nice and spacious as well. You didnt feel like you were aitting on top of other people."
