"Went here back in 2006 with the intention of having Sophia do my hair well she wasn't there Danielle her daughter was. I had healthy natural 4c hair that was mid back length chemical free and I really wanted Sophia from recommendation from my older cousin Harriet who I believe still goes there but to Sophia not anyone else. Danielle convinced me to get something called a Carmel treatment because she felt that my hair was thin and the treatment would help with fullness. Well me not being educated on Carmel treatments allowed her to treat and style my hair. After she was finished and I turned around in the mirror I could've cried. Not only did I have some kitchen looking hairdo but she had chopped ALL of my hair off to shoulder length. #1 I didn't ask for a severe cut like that #2 that treatment changed the texture of my hair so much that my beautiful curls were damaged and my texture was changed to straight #3 I should have left when I saw Sophia wasn't there. Do you know that my hair didn't grow for like 10 YEARS MY TEXTURE NEVER RETURNED BACK TO 4C. It's now the end of 2018 and my hair is finally growing back and my natural texture never returned even to this day. I'm thoroughly disgusted with this place and I advise anybody going here to think twice I've actually heard horror stories of clients getting bald spots from this girl Danielle. Beware because she damaged my hair out of spite I could see it in her eyes and face after she finished mangling my hair. Just don't go there and if you do try and get the mom to service you. I've had Dominican hairdressers lay down my hair better with a wash and blow dry zero damage. 12 years and my hair finally begins to grow whatever kitchen witch."

"Hey all! SO where do I begin! SOPHIA SOPHIA SOPHIA!!! Talk about a wonderful experience. I visited Sophias yesterday for a colour and style. Having never been to an actual hairdresser and having not done anything to my hair myself in over 4 years, I was intimidated by the process, to say the least. I decided to give her a call to ask some questions and she was AMAZING over the phone. She was patient, she listened to me vent about wanting to invigorate my appearance, she asked me questions and answered the ones I asked of her. Needless to say, after speaking with Sophia I was very confident I would be in good hands. I loved that with very little to go on aside from knowing I wanted the colour red, she TOTALLY NAILED my style! I was not sure what I wanted to do and told her to just go for it and MAN OH MAN did she NAIL it! She was so attentive and responsive throughout my entire visit. She continuously checked on me asking me if I was ok, gently wiping product away from my face and eyes as she worked at what seemed to be a superhero speed with precise movement. I also enjoyed the fact that I did not feel any pressure to conversate. As an introvert, I find it difficult to be openly social with those I have not already established a bond with so I was a bit worried that I would have to talk, talk, talk which is common at the hairdresser, but she did not press at all! She was so chill, she said what needed to be said and that was it! I was left to relax and enjoy my experience which is exactly what I did. The atmosphere was OUTSTANDING and I left feeling like I had just treated myself to a spa day! The decor is absolutely perfect and lovingly designed. Very relaxing, airy, and zen environment! I have read other reviews that complain about waiting time, I say, anything worth having is worth waiting for! A style by Sophia is absolutely worth waiting for! I will certainly be returning to Sophia's and will likely be seeing her regularly twice a month because I totally need this in my life! LOL I would also recommend Sophia's a million times over! She is OUTSTANDING!! I even got a super authentic hug at the end!!! I mean c'mon, what more could you want :) Thank you SOPHIA!!!"
