Hooked Up Ale House & Raw Bar

"Thought would share a few thoughts about our last couple of visits to Hooked Up. We went last summer with some out of town friends. The restaurant was inundated with flies. It was so bad that our friend asked the waitress if he could have a fly swatter. We were disappointed for our out of town friends because we had good food previously at Hooked Up. So my wife and I waited a couple of months to give you guys another try. We went this past Monday. 1) when we ordered we specifically asked our waiter to bring out the appetizer first. He said sure no problem. Well needless to say our appetizer and meal came out together. If you can't handle that simple request, tell us. We would have ordered the appetizer first. Then wait until it comes and then order the meal. 2) The pretzel appetizer came out lukewarm. it was actually cold on the bottom. 3) The soup we ordered came out lukewarm. 4) After our meal was brought out by a server, we looked for our waiter to get a refill on drinks. He never came around. I had to go up to the bar and ask for someone to find our waiter. it wasn't a busy night, it's the off-season. There is no excuse for this subpar experience. We never had a chance to voice any of our concerns to our waiter because he never came by to ask how things were. There are too many restaurants to choose from in the area. Not sure when we will give Hooked Up another chance."

"Somewhere during the renovation, someone must have forgotten where they put the old menu. Food was 'meh' at best. All the interesting 'bowl' entrees I saw were $23 and above, and that's hard to swallow for bar food (pun intended). I got the chicken sandwich that was available (the one I ordered about a year or two ago when we first started going was no longer on the menu, and it was delicious back then) and my wife got the stuffed rockfish (?) The atmosphere was inviting, but very loud. To be fair, they did have live music that night. Thankfully we were seated away from the bar area, and the door that was opening and closing ushering in the coldness and patrons. Service was terrific. Our wait staff was very patient while we caught up with family that we hadn't seen in awhile. We tipped good to compensate, as always. In my opinion, they shouldn't have messed with success."

"What a great deal on Oysters! Big and fresh. No Tabasco, only a homemade that is better suited for tacos, not oysters. Who serves killer delicious oysters and no Tabasco or at least Texas Pete. Anyhow they were very good oysters! It's a loud sports bar. It's nice with plenty of TV's, the perfect place to eat Oysters, with Tabasco haha .. very busy, not nearly enough staff. There is an extra step, asking for menus. There are none at the table so the first wait once seated is they ask if you want a menu. Um yeah, unless your selling something else here, I'm here to eat lol... overall a great place to grab a game, wings oysters without Tabasco pans many other great foods and beverages."

"Overall the dish was palatable for someone with a liking for sweetness to their meals. Not what I expect when I order a Thai chili shrimp bowl. Way too sweet - the description does not specify that so beware!…. However the nachos (devoured too quick) were amazing! Drinks are also average. All in a decent place for a dine in."
