Surf Shanty Motel

"We booked the Surf Shanty last minute for Labor Day Weekend and we are so grateful we stumbled across this cute little motel steps away from the beach. The hotel manger Andre was so kind and let us check in early (before 3). Andre also took the time to show us all the free amenities they offer (free bikes & free gift with room). Andre was always available when we needed and we are so grateful. Can’t wait to come back next year."

"We came here for my twins 17 the birthday. The manager Andres was the nicest and most welcoming host! He made us feel as if we were in his home. The location was steps from the beach and it was sparkling clean like a 5 star hotel. I will come here for every trip back to Dewey!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Surf Shanty for our girls' trip! The rooms were very welcoming, clean, and comfortable, and the outdoor shower was perfect for getting the sand off before going into our room. The location of this motel cannot be beat - steps away from the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Finally, the check-in process was nice and easy, and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back!"

"The Surf Shanty is a perfect spot for a getaway to the beach! We loved the access to the beach (1 short block) and to nightlife at the Lighthouse and Rusty Rudder. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean, as was the entire room. One tip would be to bring slippers to keep by the bed so you don’t track sand into your sheets as the floors were a bit gritty with sand. The hotel would do well to also add some area rugs to rooms that have rooms beneath them - we heard every single step someone took above us or every run from kids staying above us. The walls are also a little thin - thank goodness for the in-room white noise machine!!! That was an absolute bonus!!!!! The AC unit is also very very loud. When it would run at night it sounded like a car with a large surround sound of bass was parked right in front of our room. If “thumped” quite a bit. Again, all manageable but just a heads up. We loved our stay."
