Hotel Dewey 1409 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach, DE 19971

"We scheduled a last minute weekend getaway here at the end of October and were very happy with the stay. For the price, I had no expectation of views but our northwest corner room on the second floor had a pleasant view of the bay and you could see the ocean if you leaned over the railing of the wraparound porch. The staff was very friendly and the location is excellent, with several great restaurants (I'd recommend Woody's, Dewey Post, and Dewey Beer Co) within easy walking distance. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. This hotel is not for everyone though. The rooms are showing their age and could use more maintenance. If chipped paint, noisy plumbing, and dented furniture are going to offend you, find another option. The nearby Rusty Rudder nightclub is also very noisy well into the night on weekends, so light sleepers who turn in early might not be happy here."

"If you want a decent hotel STOP!!! DONT GO HERE. Ok let's start with when I first open the door I notice flys everywhere, so I can get pass that maybe the cleaning lady left the backdoor open while cleaning. Then theirs a constant leak in front of the little fridge. I put tiles in front thinking it was something minor but nope it leaked the entire stay. Then there's was the broken toilet seat. Be careful you might fall of the toilet and hurt something. And the straw that broke the camels back was when we went to take a shower the shower head and shower knobs was caked with mold!!! Now I am very simple. I'm not the uppity type but what I can't do is nastiness. I don't what type of inspection they are doing as far as what's working in the room or what's damaged but you got to keep the room and bathrooms CLEANED. Also why is there no outlets by the beds? Just a question from a person who will never bring my business back."

"I was extremely happy with my stay at Hotel Dewey. The staff are incredibly nice and were very accommodating! I was very happy with my room, and I really like that there is a hot plate and kitchen sink so I wasn't only stuck with eating out all of the time. I also loved that I had a balcony and felt very relaxed the entire time I was there. I will definitely come back!"

"Having an elevator was great. However, there appeared to be mold on the ceiling and when I took the toilet cover off because it kept running--it was gross. I have allergies and one is mold. Also there didn't appear to be sprinklers in case of fire. Office staff were nice and friendly except for one young woman. I tried to engage her in conversation and asked if the hotel was fully booked for the weekend and she said yes. The vacancy sign was on all weekend."
