Suncatchers is a unique institution located at 181 Ledge Hill Road in Guilford, Connecticut, United States. Founded over three decades ago by Kathy Scott, Suncatchers offers more than just 'day care'. With a focus on fun, friendship, hands-on learning, practical life skills, personal development, and enriching activities, Suncatchers caters to the needs of working parents and their children.

Currently serving approximately 250 kids from kindergarten to fourth grade, Suncatchers operates a privately run before-and-after school program at Melissa Jones School in Guilford. The program includes a variety of activities such as cooking, sewing, arts & crafts, sports, and free play time, all in a safe and nurturing environment. Nutritious snacks are provided to keep the kids energized.

Operating on weekdays during the school year from 7-9 am and 3:30-6 pm, Suncatchers also offers a 6-8 week Summer session. The program is designed to encourage kids to try new activities in a friendly atmosphere, where they can learn, grow, and have fun. Suncatchers' motto, "Come for the fun of it", reflects the institution's commitment to providing a positive and engaging experience for all participants.

With a dedicated staff of 15 full and part-time members, Suncatchers boasts a team of experienced individuals who are passionate about working with children. Former 'Suncatchers' themselves, some staff members bring years of experience to their roles, ensuring that each child has a memorable and enriching experience at the institution.

From arts and crafts to sports and life skills, Suncatchers offers a well-rounded program that focuses on the holistic development of each child. With a supportive and caring community, Suncatchers is more than just a before-and-after school program—it's a place where kids can learn, grow, and have fun in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
