"If you care about your health, I do not recommend you go to Dr Martha Severino. This doctor prescribed a different diabetic medication (Glipizide) to my uncle after being on metformin for years w/o reason. He took Glipizide for just 2 days and developed a fungus like allergic reaction on both his legs. When he returned to her office, Dr Severino would not see him. He was simply given a paper referral to go to a dermatologist(Advanced Specialty Care Dermatology in Danbury 107 Newtown Rd) This “specialty”dermatology office checked him and said they would send a prescription to CVS. When my uncle and I went to the CVS they said there was never a prescription sent for him. This was on a Friday, which meant he would have to wait until Monday w/o any medication on his legs and would only get worse. We had to go to an urgent care center where he had to pay $135 out of pocket, was finally seen by a capable Doctor and prescribed an ointment. Never again. Do not wish this on anyone."
"I have had my appointments cancelled 4 times in the past year. Usually, I get a notification of the cancellation, but they don’t actually call to inform you and ask if you’d like to reschedule. The onus is all on you to contact them to reschedule. Most recently though, I was not even notified and only saw my appointment was cancelled when I went to double check the date about 2 weeks before. I called and was told the physician left the practice and there were no appointments for 2 months. I explained this was the third cancellation I had and that I was not even notified so they did offer to look for other availability. They called me back the same day and offered an appointment within the same week as I originally had it a scheduled - great. A week later (1 week from my appointment), they call and say there was a scheduling issue and they had to cancel AGAIN. When I inquired about rescheduling, now the earliest date available was 8 MONTHS LATER. I’m supposed to book 8 months later with no confidence that my appointment won’t be cancelled again? I’d probably end up waiting 2 years for an appointment when all is said and done. Terrible way to do business and I will be looking for a new doctor’s office."
"Dr. Severino is a diamond in the rough of the mess of modern medicine. Medically she's extremely attentive and accurate in her diagnoses and has for 15 years now always referred me to specialists who are extremely good, but what sets Dr. Severino apart from all other doctors is her amazing bedside manner. She is a true gem, so lovely, friendly, and caring. She is like your mom or grandmother, only with the actual training of an MD. She has seen me through a great deal and I look forward to my appointments with her. Further, she is multilingual and cares for everyone in our diverse community equitably and respectably."
"Incredibly caring doctor and very well informed. My partner got COVID and we switched him to Dr. Severino too because we were not happy at the level of care with his previous doctor. Even the NP here was more informed than anyone else we'd spoken to- his previous doctor, or any of the medical staff at the hospital. It has been a huge help!"
"I highly recommend going to a doctors office that has knowledge in the insurance they accept and knowledge in what that insurance covers. My previous doctor, dentist, gyno and even eye staff ALWAYS advise me of what’s covered and what I have to pay out of pocket before even scheduling for a service. This office is too busy and have way more patients than they can handle, always making mistakes/errors and I’m so aggravated by them."
