Powell's Vacuum Supply

"Called not 5 minutes ago to inquire about a Dyson stick vacuum that I currently own, and am looking to replace with a different, non-Dyson model. I figured calling a Vacuum repair spot would be a good place to start; maybe they could advise models they see more than others for repairs, etc. Mid sentence, and before I could even finish my question, the man on the phone said, "I'm just going to tell you right now, I have nothing to do with Dyson products". I told him that I wished he'd have let me finish my question before interrupting and assuming what I was going to say. Trying to support and buy local (I'm in Torrington as well) and this was a bad representation of the company. I'll take my money elsewhere."

"Cannot give enough stars!! Our 40 year old Electrolux, which Steve helped us get 8 more years out of, finally bit the dust. Steve said he had the perfect replacement, a new Electrolux. I tried to have him show me the next model up, but he told me this was what I was looking for. Other shops would have jumped at the chance to upsell! The factory gave it a one year warranty but Steve personally warranteed it for TEN YEARS!!! Took it home and my wife said it was too loud!! No problem, went back and Steve pointed us to a Miele, which has totally changed vacuuming at our house!! I recommend Steve 100%!! Honest, knowledgeable, funny...plus he owns the building he is in. He is the only business there, so on street parking feet from his door is the norm!! Makes it really easy!"

"I live in NY and have a central vac system that had a hose with electric running thru it, the hose developed a large tear and needed to be replaced. I called and talked with Steve, I was able to order a new hose from him ( made in USA) , it came within 2 days. The new hose did not attach properly to my old parts. I sent a picture of the problem. He promptly sent me several parts to see what would work. Was able to just use a part of metal tube he sent me. I called to ask how he wanted it sent back, all I had to do was tape it back up and put it on my porch and he arranged a UPS pickup! I highly recommend Powell’s vacuum!"
