"Very disappointed. I went in with an ultrasound imaging order from my doctor, for something she assured me was nothing (just one ultrasound order, not a mammogram order). The office told me that the ultrasound had to be done with an mammogram - which I then received a $600 bill for. My problem is that my doctor did not find it medically necessary to order a mammogram (nor did she order one) and I was stuck with a very large bill for an unnecessary procedure that I could have gotten done for free on my own time as a preventative screening. They also would not accept the screening codes from my doctor and "didn't receive" the fax from my doctor, which they sent multiple times. I had to have my doctor's office fax it three times. I would advise people to be very aware of this and make sure they stick strictly to the doctor's order (and confirm!) so as not to get stuck with a large bill from a service that was not requested or ordered. Very stressful situation."
"Really disappointed that during these times that attendance is more important for employees than staying home and not getting patients sick. A doctors note would take care of unexcused absences if it’s for a sickness that would warrant a doctors visit. A doctor is not needed for a stomach bug so a note is not given. Who wants to force themselves to go to the doctors to get a doctors note just to have an excused absence!!! Very disappointed in this policy as a mom who’s child is going through health problems and basically being forced to work while sick so they do not get written up or suspended or even fired!"
"Extremely disappointed. My husband went in for MRI. They did not bother to check his health information including the fact that he has heart problems and high blood pressure and when he got stuck in machine and caused chest to get squished, they dismissed it and said he was fine. I don't understand how "professionals" can be so negligent and not check his health information. They should of know he would not of fit due to his height and weight and could of caused further health problems. Definitely do not recommend them."
"I arrived early for my appointment and was checked in and asked to sit and wait. After 20 minutes I was called up to the counter and asked to show my insurance card, which I did and was then asked to sit and wait again. After 30 minutes, the technician came out and called my name to tell me that I had not shown up on time so they were going to take others who came on time for their appointments. I explained that I had shown up on time and had been sitting there for 30 minutes waiting. Apparently, the receptionist had not formally "checked" me in. I asked if I could be taken next anyway since it was not my error that I had not been marked present. They refused. I had to wait for another 30 minutes while others were taken in. Most frustrating was that I was on a lunch break while it was obvious that almost all others were obviously retired and probably not required to be back anywhere in a short period of time. A 10 minute scan turned into an hour and a half frustrating experience. They were not willing to work with their patients, even when it was their error. The technician kept apologizing but still refused to take me in the order I arrived as if I was being punished for their mistake. I will not be going back there. And, I had to explain at work why it took me 2 and 1/2 hours for lunch."
"I was referred to RAH for an ultrasound biopsy. I was a little concerned because the reviews I had read were not great. I had checked in with the office before my scheduled date to be sure everything was in order. I was assured that everything was in order and was told my appointment would take about an hour. I arrived on time but did have to wait a very nerve wracking 30 minutes. Once I was in the examination room Diane was very calming. Dr Ramirez did the biopsy and explained everything he was doing as he went along. He was very reassuring and sensitive to my comfort. At one point I was getting a little impatient and Diane was wonderful. She was able to distract me with a very pleasant conversation all the while being attentive to Dr. Ramirez’ needs. My biopsy did take longer than I expected but I appreciate the fact that nothing was rushed. While I do hope not to need this service again, I would be quite comfortable returning to RAH."
