"Wow! Wandering the grounds (the castle is closed-I think for the season, but I could be wrong) I was in awe! 24 room castle with a built in greenhouse and everything. I wasn’t able to walk the trails due to health issues but they looked stunning, and the view of the river…the whole place is a wonder to behold!"
"Both the park and castle are beautiful and picturesque! The exterior of the castle is definitely unique and definitely feels like it belongs in Europe. I would definitely suggest grabbing tickets to explore the interior of the castle ahead of time since it appears to sell out quickly (by the time we arrived in early afternoon all tickets were already sold out for the day). However, even if you can't get inside there is lots to explore and enjoy by wandering the grounds of the park. There is a lovely overlook of the river and you can even watch the ferry transport cars and people across the river."
"Really liked the place, the work of a man with a vision. Gillette built a castle that was a home instead of just a place to stay. Nice garden with nature trails too."
"Great place. Incredible history. The inside of the castle is so unique and special. The woodwork, such as each door lock being unique is something to see."
"Such a beautiful castle. Definitely recommend you watch the video about the castle in the museum, so rich with history. Recommend you read his letters in his home too. My daughter and I fell in love with this place. Hiked the grounds after. Great afternoon. Recommendations: pack a lunch to have a picnic on the grounds. You are able to bring charcoal to grill on grounds. Wear sneakers for hiking. Spent 3 hours total, could have spent more if we packed a picnic. A must see."
