Reviews
"Educational, beautiful and a hidden gem."
"Another very impressive park with a historical old iron furnace and turbines displaying the history of the iron industry in and around Canaan, Connecticut along the picturesque Blackberry River"
"Really neat. We went and there were guides explaining everything, after telling us about everything and answering all our questions they let us know we could keep some of the Slag rocks they had everywhere near the river. When we looked around by the falls and came back the people were gone as if they were never there to begin with but I trust the ghosts words that we were allowed to take the rocks. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because the trails in the woods didn't have a map, or at least not one posted or easily found."
"I stopped here while traveling in the area. What a beautiful spot! I've never seen one of these old furnaces. As you walk around you can read the signs telling the history of the iron smelter. There is a bridge - great for sunset pics - a waterfall, fishing area and walking trails. A must see!"
"Nice hiking trail with historical information. Parking is limited, and we weren't able to find a map of the trail which made it difficult to plan the hike. We ended up hiking for 3 miles up hill and then turned around."
