"I went in to look at fabrics. Two women run the shop. The younger woman was friendly and helpful. While pulling fabrics, I mentioned that I had purchased an O. Henry House sofa from Kaiyo and was recovering that. When I explained what Kaiyo was and it became clear that this was second hand, the older woman pursed her lips and followed the younger woman into the back. She said— very loudly—that used furniture never turns out right etc, etc. It was all extremely nasty. Let me point out that if they never recovered things that were “used,” they would lose half of their business. The sofa was—is—a gorgeous 7.5 ft Bridgewater with luxurious down cushions—top quality from a top American brand. Second, reusing furniture is a way to keep things out of landfills. It’s environmentally friendly. I was so shocked by her unprovoked nastiness that I left. I will never buy anything there after that. I got my fabric elsewhere and have a beautiful, comfortable sofa. Why support a store that goes out of its way to alienate and insult its customers? Update: Within hours of posting this review, I received the first of numerous calls and texts asking me to call the owner, whom I’ll call A. I didn’t respond - I planned to but a week passed; I have a lot going on, and I said what I had to say in my review (that was kind of the point of it). I then received a text from A telling me that if I didn’t respond she would “contact the authorities.” It is obvious somewhat amusing to be treated appallingly by a store that you have complained about being treated appallingly in. That said, I still wasn’t thrilled about being threatened. So I called and the gist of it was the salesperson denied my story to A. The implication seemed to be that I was making it up. I didn’t let her get to the part where she offered me a discount in exchange for taking the review down. No thank you. So…if all of this seems like great customer service to you, shop away."
"Simple job, recover an already existing form for a hallway bench. I purchsed the fabric from the shop, it took four weeks to complete. Very lumpy, not even margins. They offered to correct, took another 9 days and looks exactly the same. There was obviously nothing done to fix it. I was told that my fabric was thicker which accounted for the lumps......no, they rewrapped the form unevenly."
"Amazing stop for Home Furnishings and accessories- in business over 30 years. Has always been a staple for any project that I am doing in my home or offices. Very professional help and the Store Manager Iwona - has worked on making my home and professional spaces just perfect. No better place in Fairfield County !"
