"Working with Rika has been instrumental in strengthening and aligning my body in its recovery from a back injury 12 years ago. Rika tailors her sessions to build my strength and connect it to my movement which I can then apply to day to day tasks to playing a game on the tennis court. As an avid tennis player but with severe impairments, Rika trains me to coordinate my movement, reducing pain and risk of injury. In the controlled environment of our work-out, we simulate movements that I would use playing tennis, and through repetition teach and strengthen my muscles to react quickly on court. Through our work, I have gained a better, more subtle understanding of my body. I have never played such good tennis, not even before my back injury. Beyond that, Rika’s energy, demeanor and in-depth knowledge make each session engaging and fun."
